Working on a concept design ever since a certain somebody said he was doing it for the tumblr people.
A screenshot from procreate showing a design mock-up for a modified aviator jacket.l (dark brown leather, light yellow wool trim.

The aviator jacket is a stock image. Drawn on top of the left shoulder is a green turtle shell mantle with a red, worn out draped over the shoulder and hanging off the side.

On the elbows are two crudely drawn purple patches with a black and yellow rhombus pattern. On the right side of the jacket is a cleaner design with an arrow pointing to the patch.

To the bottom right of the jacket is a rough sketch, which does not incorporate the patches but does add a brown belt with a knife holster at the left hip.

On the right side of the image is a box of cut off green text. The only text hanging off the box that can be read says “LORE” and “okay w/ kenny [omega] this is already true”.

Oh look, two new graphics after I made a bad typo on the first one. These are meant to be cropped, printed and dropped to get the attention of the general public who might not know a) how incoming bills may affect them too and b) the power of art. USE PHYSICAL MEDIA AS A TOOL, NOW.
Text on the poster reads:

Do you enjoy the INTERNET?
CALL YOUR REPS

(In green blobs)

Are you willing to GIVE YOUR ID to access your social media? (Screen Act, H.R. 1623)

Would you know what content was ILLEGAL? (IODA, S.1671)

Is damaging businesses, livelihoods, and THE ECONOMY FURTHER worth web regulation? (KOSA, S.1748)

—

THESE BILLS GO BEYOND KIDS

YOU CAN TAKE THESE STEPS!

1) find your reps through house.gov
2) call and write letters opposing these bills!
3) call payment processors like PAYPAL to stop censoring what people buy and sell!In colored text, the top reads:

TODAY, MAKE SOME ART.

The image is decorated with orange people on the middle right showing their art, with a big green dragon breathing 3 red fire hearts as 3 tiny dragons watch. There are 3 blue stars and 2 blue squiggle lines, the latter are underneath the dragons.

The rest of the text, in black, reads:

Make it to fill your heart.

Be sure to sure, there are people who care.

Even if you are completely new…

ART BRINGS OUT THE HUMAN IN YOU.

In the left cup is “milky” coffee with the visage of Violet from the movie Bound, with green, curly hair. In the right cup is “black” coffee with the visage of Corky from the same movie, with bright red hair and green oil stains on her face. On the top of the hand is small, red text which reads BOUND in all caps.

Too late rn and I gotta go to bed BUT here is a photo collaged bird I made for a TShirt design contest when I had no stylus to work with. You can make cool sh*t without a pen that does not require AI.
A black and white collage of a sleeping white bird. On the left of their chest, there is a black blotch with a white flower in its center. The bird is framed by a flower with black petals and a collaged center consisting of photos of clouds. In each leaf is a photo of a park building/landscape. The top two are of Brookfield Park’s abandoned trolly house and a castle at Snug Harbor. The bottom leaf is of Freshkills Park.

Black text on the top reads “my subconscious is an artist”. The bottom text reads “that draws from observation.”

Here we go, my thoughts on wrestling and recent events. Sorry for the shoddy alt text, I am unable to fit it all within the character limit.
White text on a black background.

The words cannot fit the character limit, so to summarize :

The first paragraph talks about how Hogan was a union buster and how his actions lead to pro wrestlers having very few protections and why they are not in a union.

Second paragraph recommends Behind The Bastards’ video series on Vince McMahon and John Oliver’s video on the WWE.

Third paragraph talks about how, in spite of the bleak perception from these problems, pro wrestling can still be beautiful and a representation of something more. I recommend watching Chocopro’s Chris Brookes vs Lulu Pencil feud.
White text on a black background.

Assuming this text won’t fit either, here are some summaries:

The first paragraph talks about how although I enjoy work for mainstream wrestling companies, there should be ways of making sure smaller productions thrive beyond a toxic industry.

The second paragraph urges imagination for a future where artists can thrive and collaborate instead of compete. Instead of being at the whims of companies who will capitulate and throw us under the bus. Although I make a completely different kind of art, I see wrestlers as artists too.

I can probably fit the rest. The rest of the text says:

“If you are in the wrestling sphere, support your local wrestlers, support artists who make work around wrestling, get to connect with others and get in discussion about how we can support each other, imagine what we can do to make wrestling a safe and accessible space.

If you are not, I still advise much of the above for any art or creative field you are in. Support your artists, fight for their right to monetize their work, get a commissions if you can, buy from them at the fairs they go to, FIGHT THE F*CK BACK AGAINST AI, and/or reach out and say their art rocks, this is a fight that drains on the mental too.

And some wrestling recs that are free on YouTube : Enjoy Pro Wrestling (queer centered), Chocopro (Japan based), Baka Gaijin and Friends (Japan based, I suggest watching Chocopro first, they share some roster members), Kaiju Big Battel (very experimental, people dress as monsters and fight each other, very theatrical)

We build beyond people like Hogan. Because we must.”

Just dug up this doodle from a couple of years ago, I think.
A shaky line doodle of a girl with straight black hair wrapped in a scarf. She wears a tattered coat, black leggings, sneakers, and a pointed, tiered hat. The text “- scarecrow baby?” Is written next to her at her eye level. Next to her right, at her feet, is a crudely drawn rat.

Here’s another cover that I made for one of my school projects. This and the characters I shared earlier were supposed to edit an animation project but I never had the time to see it come to reality that way.
An illustration of a knight in silver armor on a white blobbed shape which is on top of a green geometric background.

On top of the knight are 3 (three) blobs of translucent color. The top (over his helmet) is pink, the middle (over his torso) is green with the words ASSEMBLAGE written in white text. The bottom (over his legs) is blue.

Here’s another throwback. I made these portraits for my portfolio book last year. I believe these are all colored pencil but may have some crayon too.
Two head portraits of two different characters looking to the side on a green background. The top character has tan skin, short, choppy, dark hair, and dark green eyes. They wear a white undershirt and a red, striped over-shirt. The bottom character has pale skin with blots of color (green, pink, and blue) floating about. He has blue-green eyes and long blond hair that is tied half back. He wears a blue shirt.

//PART 2// Here are some more direct methods of disengaging with big franchises by directly connecting with your community, as well as some pretty rad resources.
White text on a black background. It says:

Ways Of Engaging In Community

These are means that are not technically tied to connections with any portion of the art world.

Stewardship
- No seriously, stewardship of any kind is not only more fun than it sounds, it’s also especially good to get into in these times.
- Find your local seed bank, conservancy, nature group, and see what’s up.
- Get trained in a stewardship field. For example, I have training in tree and trail care as of April of this year.
- Organize a day with your friends where you chat and pick up litter.

Volunteer
- If you have the time, volunteering, period, is a great way of engaging with those in your local area.
- Not all volunteering tasks are the same depending on where you join. There will always be something going on where you are welcome to help.

Sparking Imagination
- Find mediums that can be used to bond, create community, and think of better worlds with others (physical art making, games, storytelling).
- Again, any sort of club that explores positive world-building or does an action to benefit the community is a great start.
- Keep a journal, explore your thoughts through your own writing.
- Spend a day out, walk around your local park or your neighborhood with just your thoughts.

Educate Yourself
- Find and visit a local institution that shows the lived experiences of marginalized communities and their stories. If they host community events, consider going to one.
- Archives and commons both exist on and offline and are usually free to access for all.
White text on a black background. It says:

Some Resources I Like A Lot
Here are some resources that I think are really neat and would love to suggest.

Community Building On and Offline
- Collaboration Cookbook (website)
- Wildflower Collective (website, support line, offers training (sliding scale) for working with others in certain mental health scenarios)

Finding Spaces + Groups
- Slingshot Collective (website, global)
    - NOTE: this is specifically about their contact list. Not everything is up to date though so always check first.
- Intersectional Environmentalist Database (website database, US folks)
- NYC Noise (web directory, also branches to similar sites globally but not all of them are up to date)

Finding Places To Learn In Person
- National Park Foundation’s site on LGBTQ+ history (website, US folks)
- Robe Trottings list of LGBTQ+ sites (web article, UK & Europe folks)

Finding Places To Learn Online
- Archive.LGBT (web archive, has a bunch of websites, but most archives are US based)
- Slow Factory (website)

Cool Spots For Speculative Fiction
- Grist (website geared towards climate news, but also hosts short fiction contests every year)
- Tractor Beam (website)

Remember, most of your success when looking to engage in community will likely be looking into very local opportunities for connecting with others.

//PART 1// Well. I do not know how to work with threads. So here is some text and resources in response to what the HP author (and many other big IP owners are) doing. Use this to help yourself or others who may be struggling with the idea of letting go of certain media.
White text on a black background. It says:

Detaching Yourself From a Massive Franchise

Hi. I wanted to make this compilation of actionable things people can do if they or someone they know are looking to disengage themselves with any big franchise that happens to be using its power to directly harm targeted communities. While we shouldn’t let people continue on supporting something that is being used to erase people from public life, I want to share a means for people (or those they know) to have some support in disengaging from these IPs and finding other means of community and joy.

It is true that continued support of any major franchise that uses their power to oppress others makes someone an active contributor in that oppression and it should be called out. If someone is looking to make a change but doesn’t know where to start, then meeting that with opening the door for them to explore might be the best way of helping them out. There are many ways to do this whether it’s to help them enjoy other media or engage further with their community (or both!).

White text on a black background. It says:

Ways Of Discovering New Art/Work

Questions To Ask Yourself (or Someone Else)
- What themes do I like in this work?
- What genres would I be open to look at based on this work?
- Are there other mediums where I am engaging with this franchise?
- How can I engage in art with the aspects I like and support people of marginalized identities?
- How can I engage in art to directly engage in community/support independent artists first?

Books
- Get a library card for yourself (or someone else).
- Join a book club (and bring a friend).
- Look up books similar to what you like (as a start), see if they are in a library (and request them if they aren’t).
- Use something like Shelf Help here in NYC if you are struggling with a starting point (and specify you are not looking for anything from the franchise and/or you’re looking for underrepresented authors).
- Look at Little Free Library stations.
- Attend a book swap and talk with others.

Games
- Look up independent game creators online.
- Find game libraries in your area.
- Connect with others in community events (your local board game cafe can also work if you live near one).
- Introduce smaller/indie games (both digital and physical) to your groups to try out.
- Find other ways to explore games through outdoor community events, participatory arts festivals, etc.White text on a black background. It says:

Continued!

Films
- Libraries are always your best friend.
- So are clubs.
- Find a local independent film screening (although not all of them are free).
- Organize a screening day of found small films (recent animation and film grads are always fun finds).

Other Art Forms!
- Community theatre and local shows (for wrestling/music fans)
- Open mic events
- Find a means of engaging in art making yourself (I’ll get into that later)
