TW: police brutality (via redstreamnet at bird site) Unrest in Lisbon intensified for a second day after Odair Moniz, a Black man, was fatally shot by police. Protesters set buses on fire and police raided homes, including that of Moniz’s mourning family, and assaulted a 19-year-old girl.

Don't worry, everyone, the brave man who assaulted climate protesters last year is going up north to drag the fire away. Blocking traffic is unacceptable.

Fire season in Portugal is always so "fun". @sazandaro.bsky.social was coming down to Lisbon and got turned back; everything's closed down. For the next few days you're not allowed to even enter many forested areas, and reporters on the scene say "it looks like nighttime".
