Some of my Destreza art. folks who know me from real life or other platforms will have seen these, but others might not have, and I'm proud of this work, so I figured I'd share.

A simple version of the more elaborate "Universal Demonstration" diagram- containing mnemonic devices to encode the entirety of Destreza's governing philosophy and empirical geometric foundations.

My version of the "Universal Demonstration"- an attempt to capture as much of the theory and praxis of my version/understanding of Destreza, in as little space as possible by encoding data using mnemonic devices similar to those used not only in the historical corpus of the system, but also in other related disciplines of the time period during which Destreza was developed. Starting from the bottom up, the diagram covers the footwork of the system; then the lines and planes of the human body, as well as explanations of the biomechanics and geometry that govern it; Then descriptions of the movements of the sword and the actions one can take with a blade; and finally the noetic theory that drives the system in regards to timing, offense, defense, and tactical thinking. Around the diagrams representing the body are set 5 smaller circles- four marked with the classical elements (Earth, Air, Fire, Water) representing physical discipline and holistic fitness: static strength, cardio conditioning, plyometric strength, and flexibility respectively. The fifth elemental circle sits between the body (the head, specifically) and the theory, inscribed with the symbol for the 5th element: quintessence, mind, spirit.. seen here with the butterfly wings of the goddess Psyche.
