On something positive and related to my work and #HallsOfTorment - Paul is sharing some UI Skins with me and I'm really in love with the wooden one.

UI Skin for Halls of Torment with a big empty section in the middle, the side elements are what is replacing the active game UI while fighting in a dungeon. The UI has a very decorative wooden style with metal plated details. The wood is chestnut brown while the metal has a steel touch to it. A knight glove is holding the health orb while the generally aesthetic is that of a wooden cabinet.

I love adding QoL bits. Now added that players can see if an ability can be upgraded from the HUD. The day before added an artifact overview to the end screen :3 (One must be flexing 💪)

Shows the ability overview in Halls of Torment with 5 active abilities and their upgrade states. Greyed out icons marking an ability ready to be upgraded.

Endscreen of Halls of Torment when then player died. Aside the usual overview now added has been the number of artifacts used and up to 15 artifacts in a display as icons.

For devs with a demo and want to now how well received it is: Median Playtime. HoT and other Bullet Heavens had up to 2 hours median playtime on demo launch. There were devs on Discord complaining about short attention span of players, engaging only for 5 minutes.

Steam Award nominations create a huge influx of positive Reviews as it's part of the event. In less than 24h our review amount increased by 3000%+ and almost all are positive. Saw this also on other recent games and might help some titles getting in a better review bracket :)

More recent Halls of Torment item rework. Right now I like to add effects to defensive items for when they are not actively used. It's not that those items are not good without them, but they don't feel good or fun in Bullet Heavens. People want destroy, not defend.
