Yes the fence thing is annoying. I walk a minimum of 2 miles a day but I don't have a fence. Walking 2+ miles a day is better exercise than sitting in a fenced yard barking at traffic. I understand for some high energy breeds or puppies. My current foster girl did not require a fence
