Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 2hThis thread, exactly - we have state sanctioned public executions damn near every day in this country. 020

Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Yesss, and some finely diced carrots with the celery and onion, then bake it in the oven til the top is crispy 000
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I prefer apple crisp because I can make it myself. I would prefer apple pie if my mom or grandma was still alive to make it - a really good flaky pastry crust is to die for. But I don't know anyone who can make one like they did, and I don't have the patience to practice enough to do it myself 000
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I love a good granny cart! Mine has triple wheels that make it easier to go up and down the stairs to my apartment 010
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 03/10/2026My kitchen is miniscule, with minimal storage space, so I don't really stock up on stuff that needs to stay cold. I do stock up on shelf-stable stuff to some extent - I keep the sparkling water on the same shelf as my tool box, coffee shares a shelf with puzzles and games 010
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 03/10/2026I can walk to several stores, and I don't have a car. I get heavy/bulky stuff delivered - cat food and litter, cases of sparkling water, etc. If I don't need/want enough to make delivery worth it, I take my granny cart . Otherwise I just buy what fits in my backpack and a couple of reusable bags 120
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Nothing remotely surprising about this outcome - what's mind-boggling is that anyone who has other options is coming here at all 040

Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Oh, boy, one of my colleagues had a client like this - "but ChatGPT says {word salad}" The client needed a lot more hours of services than they would have if they'd taken the expert advice to begin with 110
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 01/10/2026What a great life - floating around nibbling on snacks all day 010
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 01/10/2026What could possibly go wrong? Also, I'm glad the government is so laser focused on resolving the issues we're all most concerned about 🫠 030
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I don't remember specifically sleeping there, but I often hid out in the closet to read, have a private phone conversation or just calm down in a cozy space, from childhood at least into my 20s. I have a lot more control over my environment now and haven't thought of that in years 010
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Exactly Nobody's going to ask what you were wearing or accuse you of trying to ruin the bear's life 050
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 01/10/2026I cannot seem to look away from my phone today. Would everyone please stop doing news and posting cat pics for a while so I can get some work done 010
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 01/10/2026Plus, people will be sympathetic and try to help you if you were attacked by a bear. 1150

Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026It's tragically fresh in my memory - I think it most recently happened last week, but it's so common I can't be sure 010
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Yes! Even deterministic code can produce unexpected results - there's some edge case you hadn't thought of, or a condition the client didn't specify. At least with my work I can figure out what happened; I don't think any AI lets you follow the decision tree to see how it arrived at the result 010
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Hahaha, yes. Twelve rounds of meetings later, they're still unhappy with the report output, so they send an email that says "this doesn't match my old report", with no link to or description of said report, and then you get to start all over 110
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026That makes sense - PP is always the first org that comes to mind when abortion rights is the topic, but I expect that's mainly because right-wing nut jobs can't stop gushing lies about them 120
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Oh, that makes sense - I appreciate your response, thank you 020
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026His type is well-represented among white evangelical pastors and speakers - they were very popular at Promise Keepers and similar "godly masculinity" events in the 90s I wonder if that circus is still going, or what it's morphed into 010
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I am very interested to hear more about this, if you have time/ inclination. Is PP not worth supporting? Or it's not sufficient - I can see how it's insufficient, because they're being shut down or run out of states, they cave to gov't pressure, etc. But if there's more, I'd genuinely like to know 230
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I do enjoy when her wild takes end up on screenshots over here. She's got some incredible range 😂 000

Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Sounds like a miserable time! And it's probably a more common experience than milking goats, at least if you're in the US. 000
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Also this: 🚩🚩🚩 "Baker greeted Marris and handed over an unlabeled jug of raw goat milk, still warm to the touch." 🚩🚩🚩 This place has terrible milk handling practices - it needs to be rapid-chilled immediately for both safety and taste 030
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026The herd in the article is goats, but I suspect a lot of the considerations are similar - goats need a much wider variety of food than most people assume, they need specific minerals, they need to be monitored for parasites and infection, etc. 100
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Selling raw milk to animal rescues and breeders is a far cry from selling for human consumption - the withdrawal requirements and sanitation standards are totally different 010
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026There's a lot to cringe at here, but - milking twice a day is typical dairy goat practice, especially if you're not sharing milk with the baby goats. It has nothing to do with freshness; it's because most does' production will drop precipitously if they're not milked out regularly 110
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026"this is your brain on drugs" - and I can picture the ad and hear the sizzle. I'm the tail end of GenX, though, so maybe that makes a difference 020
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I didn't think it was possible to lower my opinion of RFK Jr and his HHS, and then this comes across my feed; rock bottom is always lower than I expect 110

Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 30/09/2026I'm sure Missouri has many better people to offer, but it's unlikely that any of them are in the GOP 130
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Yes, exactly - I see this with my clients all the time. I often spend about as much time figuring out all the things that need to be accounted for in a given process as I do actually building the workflow. 020
Beth Howard @june-6-bug.bsky.social · 29/09/2026Same for pretty much every client I've ever worked with No one wants to pay for the time it takes to accurately document processes, so they just end up reinventing them every time there's a staff turnover 110
