📢 New paper out in Imaging Neuroscience! 🧠 We used high-resolution fMRI to examine the #LC the brain's primary noradrenergic nucleus, as a neurobiological substrate of state regulation deficits in #ADHD. Highlight of the result in the comments! 📄 Read the full paper here: doi.org/10.1162/IMAG...

An fMRI examination of the role of the Locus Coeruleus in state regulation in ADHD
Abstract. The state regulation deficit account of ADHD posits that symptoms and performance deficits associated with ADHD are context-dependent and explained by a deficit in arousal regulation. Resear...

Exploring distinct and joint contributions of the locus coeruleus and the substantia nigra/ventral tegmental area complex to reward and valence processing using high-resolution fMRI
Abstract. Dopaminergic neurons in the substantia nigra and the ventral tegmental area (SN/VTA) are classically viewed as key mediators in reward processing, while noradrenergic cells in the locus coer...

I got to spend the last 4 months in Canada, at the University of Waterloo, where Prof Kaylena Ehgoetz Martens, her team and I set up a really exciting study on #anxiety in #Parkinson. We hope to better understand the different manifestations of anxiety and its associations with symptoms of PD.

Our latest result is out now: phasic and tonic taVNS at rest, under standard params, might both modulate the noradrenergic system in phasic mode only (by proxy of pupil dilation). With the great team @marzecova.bsky.social and Gerhard Jocham at @hhu.bsky.social 🙌 #neuroskyence
