I got to paint one of these guys for the Wild Seed Project last year! I had to be very careful to make sure that their little head was big enough, because it's one of the biggest visual differences between them and other sparrows :)

willow partridge & geese, gouache on hot press paper. it's in the negatives out there with the windchill and I'm going to be working by the fire today just to keep warm!!
