Well I get that it’s not practical (most of the time). In fact I believe the best feedback comes from testreaders and editors not every other publisher. I just think it is good not to be affected too much by these kind of rejections.

I believe that is necessary in order to go and stay on that ride! A personalized rejection could at least contain some helpful pointers. Standard letters are useless to ponder.

I find myself thinking about my younger self a lot lately. Back in 2000 I was about to finish school considering a career as an artist. I abandoned that goal. 25 years later I am a working writer – in awe of that young girl who had to be so strong to get us to where are today. #writerscommunity

😅 okay I get it. Maybe just try to approach it as you would any story told in the past tense. The medias res has to work in connection with the rest of the story. I guess if it is „just“ context that’s too much. But if it is part of the story Structure I see no reason why you can’t make it work

I guess it depends on the story and why it is beneficial for it to be told in media res? I am not a fan of deciding on the „form“ first. Other than that: Why not? I don’t think it is doomed to create a disconnect. If you catch my interest I follow you from where ever you start.
