Another fun event at @carleton.edu last night! A multidisciplinary analysis of whether Severance is possible, featuring neuroscience (Julie Neiworth), cognitive psychology (me), and philosophy (Jason Decker)! Take home: it’s complicated. But real fun to think through.

I started a new thing at Carleton College! It highlights the breadth of a liberal arts education, reminds students that faculty don't know EVERYTHING, and is loads of fun! In "Guess Lectures," faculty give 7-minute talks using someone else’s slides from an unrelated discipline, sight unseen.

Spotted in the wild: orthographic co-articulation! Where'd the dot over the i go?? (same letters, with and without spaces) Font: Roboto

when the the letters "fi" have no spaces between them, the dot above the i goes away. When they do have spaces, the i has a dot.
