Yes it could. It could also be a convenient excuse for all this government's failures

We're so past the time a principled leader would have spoken out, that I'm genuinely worried about where liblab is going to take us

Why did Albanese not also call those comments insulting and appalling? It's past time to reassure Australians that we will be siding with liberal democracies, not with Trump.

This has been known for a long time but nothing is done. Like the housing crisis, the gambling and fossil fuel industries. Labor and LNP are equally corrupt and uncaring.

This is a truly horrifying account of increasingly likely collapse of essential natural systems which would bring mass food shortages, price rises & global disorder. Commissioned from UK intelligence chiefs but scandalously suppressed by Govt, & sneaked out now while attention is elsewhere 👇

Fox is Rupert and Lachlan Murdoch. They keep out of the spotlight, but they are the fascist media owners promoting the fascist Trump regime

The country needs to wake up and notice that Labor doesn't care about this any more than the LNP. They both represent neoliberalism and need to go bottom of the ballot

Yes Howard started it, but decades later Albanese and Labor are happy to continue it. They serve the same interests: capitalism. This won't improve until Australians can be persuaded to put liblab last on the ballot

Not scared, corrupt. By that I mean morally corrupt at least, since I don't know what if any monetary benefit is at stake

I don't believe it. Especially looking at Labor and the absolute veto on deviating from the party line - all we're likely to get are more party hacks screwing us over

At this point I'm planning to hold my nose and even vote One Nation ahead of liblab. Neoliberal birds of a feather.

Actually Amy, at least those mortgagees have a roof over their heads. What's "very cruel" is homelessness. It's being locked out of the housing market because of ever-increasing prices.

At this point China would be the least worst option. Both are authoritarian states now, but the US is a corrupt idiocracy. China at least is intelligent.

The people who will feel this are not the everyday Australians "saving for retirement", they're the very wealthy in your electorate who are abusing superannuation as a tax avoidance strategy

These can't meet the standard of a local, regular GP who you have a relationship with, who knows your history and can offer ongoing care. Bring back free, local GPs

Never forget how many of those advising the ALP are patting themselves on the back for ensuring the govt did nothing in this. “Not an issue/we made sure it hurt the Greens” Those doing so are truly putrid. At best excusing murder, at worst cheering for it. www.abc.net.au/news/2025-05...

The most important solution: reducing the human population. An easy way to start this would be a global push to provide birth control and education to all girls and women. The more complex task is developing a new economic model that doesn't require continuous growth.

I'd expect most serious MH illnesses can be dealt with without admission though. And so many are very long term, that out-patient frequently makes more sense.

Yes, that's how it sounds. Serious mental health problems need consistent long term care with a good professional working as part of a medical team

It's a lot better than nothing, but I have doubts about the quality of free walk-in centres vs appointments with qualified, experienced psychologists recommended by and working with your GP. It feels like a cheap alternative to simply adding mental health care to Medicare.

Happy to see more solar, but it sounds like "modest" rent increases for renters mean that this subsidy is going towards increasing the value of the landlord's property, not a net saving for the tenant. Typical Australia.
