The thing about Kill la Kill is that it knows what it is, what it wants to do, and exactly how to do it. Most shows these days can barely handle one of the three. It was a great reminder of why I loved anime in the first place, and no other show has ever replicated this feeling.

A lot of artists push the idea that you should (horizontally) flip your piece frequently to see if you're making any mistakes. While I see some merit to this, it's important to remember that some works are supposed to only look good from one angle.

This brings me back. I think it's THE first time I drew someone's OC seriously. I really like this piece because it was a good demonstration of everything I've learned by then, including my lame jokes. This is based off the Commander by @pumpkinpaipai.bsky.social, who is a good artist.

You have to understand that EVERY panel in a manga/comic is essentially their own illustration. This means 1 illustration that takes 2 hours times 6 panels would add up to 20 hours, somehow. The point is that despite all its flaws, I loved Azur Lane. I truly did.

A while back an interview with Yoko Taro suggested that he wanted to include a sexo scene in the anime. Even if it wasn't his exact words, this didn't stop some people from missing the point of the joke. Please don't sue me Yoko Taro and Takahisa Taura.

Around this time I finally got around to watching Kill la Kill. Without hyperbole it is the greatest show I've ever seen. When I made this I also learned that the "simpler" the art style appears, the harder it is to mimic it.

You have to remember that I'm just a guy who draws the thing. As a professional (hentai) artist I do the research and draw the hot girls, but my personal opinion on the franchises vary. I read through all of Desert Rose, and it was just barely okay-ish. It lacked depth.

Anyways Shogi is the Japanese version of chess is widely considered one of the most complex variants. Now the main difference between Shogi and chess is that in Shogi captured pieces can re-enter the field. The objective is to capture the opponent's king piece, much like checkmate in chess.
