If the scar is raised, very similar approach: darker stripe goes first. Then lighter color goes to the side where light is coming from, finishing off by you adding a small shadow.

Personally, I use textured brushes of my choice for that. Start with a darker stripe and then put lighter color inside for cleanly healed scars. For larger areas, make the lighter tone inconsistent and spotty as skin heals unevenly. Aka not putting more effort than it is needed to communicate.

More artists should do this for their work tbh (can't rely on the viewer to get all the details) In the dance, I like how after his acting cracks, Aventurine sticks to Ratio like glue. They keep distance until that moment. I see it as Aventurine taking his last indulgence.
