Kennedy Quay, Cork city in September 1985 when warships of the U.S.A. and the Soviet Union docked practically side by side. There wasn’t to be any engagement between the superpowers however. When questioned, Rear Admiral Gromov curtly responded that “There won’t be any contact with the Americans".

One of my earliest Cork city landscapes, an early morning view of Morrisons Island in the 1970s, taken with with my first 'serious' camera - an Olympus OM10 SLR. The muted colours and grainy effect have always appealed to me.
