A trio of characters owned by @littlexcrow, posed for a chest-up selfie. The man on the left has black, short spiky hair and wears a jean jacket over a black shirt. The middle man appears to be a cyborg with brown hair, his flat screen of a face displaying two upturned half-circles as a show of happiness, his arms around the other two characters. The man on the right has neck-length dirty blonde hair, wearing a blue flannel over a black shirt; he holds the camera.

how did we get here

a procreate screenshot that shows crestfalls’ oc chris anderson’s first concept. it’s a sketch done in red with notes around it that read, “looks slightly younger than he is, weirdly stylish, hair coil, maybe facial hair, generally friendly-looking.” notably, the sketch does not have eyes or a nose.

a drawing of chris anderson from the side, though his head is tilted for the viewer to see three-quarters of his face. he has a wide smile as he looks off-screen, seemingly laughing at something.

Chris, who is next to her and closest to the viewer from the side, leans backward and looks off-screen with a grin. There are symbols around them that denote amusement/laughter.

behold, the official taylor family dynamic in a nutshell #oc #ocsky

A relationship chart featuring chibi heads of Chris, Scout, John, and Victoria.

Chris, who is an honorary member of the family, thinks of Scout as a mentee and means to an end, as well as potentially a not-son, and of John as his closest friend. His relationship with Victoria is obscured to make way for others.

Scout thinks of Chris as a mildly irritating mentor and supervisor, as well as potentially a not-dad, of Victoria as his mother, and of John as his father and childhood role model.

John thinks of Chris as his closest friend and the "little brother he never wanted," of Victoria as the love of his life A.K.A wife, and of Scout as his son, legacy, and potentially a disappointment.

Victoria thinks of John as the love of her life A.K.A husband, and of Scout as her son. Her relationship with Chris is obscured to make way for others.

since reyenant angst is on the mind again, have more snippets i can’t bring myself to finish ft. a little context in alt text #oc

A bit of writing from Chris’ first-person point of view, narrating his thoughts. It reads:

“I don’t know how to tell him. I can’t predict how we might react, but that’s what I love about him, and—

Wait a minute.

‘What I love about him’?

Do I love him? I can’t.

Oh, God.

I love him, don’t I?

He doesn’t need to know. He doesn’t need to know anything.”

A screenshot of the Notes app. For more context, this is after Chris and Reyes have separated.

"Hey... Captain. Reyes," the voice on the other end quickly corrects itself. "I just wanted to, ah..."

The words trail off and there's a moment of silence. Reyes wonders if here is the moment that he should be deleting the voicemail.

"I'm sorry."

The phrase comes out quietly, uncharacteristically so. In the past, when the two disagreed, those two words would leave Chris' mouth somewhat forced - maybe because he knew it was something he had to say rather than something he felt like saying, or maybe because he just wasn't used to saying it. Reyes wasn't sure which was worse. He wasn't able to decide before Chris kept talking. It was always like that.

"I miss you-" a shaky deep breath- "so much. And I just..."

Reyes realized that he was clenching his jaw as he listened, his entire body tense, as if thinking that if he moved an inch, he wouldn't be able to hear the voicemail. He buried his hand in his hair, leaning ever-closer toward his phone.

"I don't know what I'm doing."

Well, clearly, Reyes thought. Apparently you never did.

A screenshot of the Notes app. For context, this is after Chris and Reyes have separated, but soon after Reyes decided to give Chris a second chance, where Chris promised to finally be entirely honest about himself with Reyes.

The two shared a kiss, slow and familiar. When they pulled away, Reyes could feel Chris' lips brush against his own again and he instinctively expected the second kiss the man always managed to sneak in. Instead of that familiarity, though, his face became cold as Chris reeled back.

At the same time, Reyes opened his eyes, taking a moment to process Chris' expression. With a crease in his brow and that damn pout he apparently never knew he was doing, his face almost conveyed a feeling of worry.

There was an uncertainty in Chris' eyes that Reyes had never once seen a few months ago, but now his gaze always seemed to be filled with it when the two were alone. He didn't know how to handle Reyes — no, he didn't know how to handle himself.

thinking about young milo tonight #oc #art #ocsky

a monochrome-rendered sketch of a softly-smiling young scout. it’s a screenshot redraw of a tiktok with a caption that states, “when someone is so hateful it inspired you to be kinder”

a rendered drawing of young scout. wearing a white dress shirt and black tie, he has a nervous smile on his face as he looks somewhere off to the side, sweating. chris has been cropped out to focus on scout, but he’s holding a cup that says “WORLD’S BEST LIEUTENANT” and resting his other hand on scout’s shoulder.

chris replies, “you know what it is.”
scout asserts, “i do not.”

a text conversation edited to have pictures of chris and scout beside each text. the first one from chris states, “i actually had a great night reading camus and drinking tea and went to bed by 9:30.”

scout replies, “kill yourself.”
