jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I only got introduced to it recently, and I've been able to have some good fun just against bots and with a friend occasionally. 000
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 02/10/2026I still think this is one of your coolest enemy designs. 010
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 01/10/2026If only we could trap them all in a circle and leave them away from the rest of us. 010
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Funny thing though, I thought of a lot of fuzzy cases, like Touhou (arguably a major IP unto itself), Holocure and Chrono Gear (fangames about a big IP), Transistor (Supergiant is bigger now), and several that I'm just not sure about the size of the team. 021
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Let me see how many I can get off the top of my head (not really ordered): 1. Mardek 2. Epic Battle Fantasy 3. To the Moon 4. Attack on Toys 5. Eternal Senia 6. Sonny 7. Blue Prince 8. Raze 2 9. Gemcraft (and many, many other Tower Defense games) I miss Kongregate. 130

jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Back to Painscreek. The secrets of the town keep piling up. I find some answers, I get some more questions, but they are getting more dramatic. youtu.be/LUL5fguDCXYyoutu.bePlaying The Painscreek Killings, SecretsYouTube video by jssf1992 000
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Skies of Arcadia. From watching my father play it on the Dreamcast when I was a kid, it was the most amazing thing to me. Skies became the JRPG for me, and years later is still my 'standard' for a video game story. While it has been surpassed, I still love the world, the cast, and the music. 050
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 20/09/2026Well, you stepped on a mine there, didn't you? I could write a paper on this idea, but this medium isn't really good for this kind of discussion. Like many things worth talking about, it's very complicated. Shortest thing I could say is that 'privilege' was always the wrong word for this. 110
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 19/09/2026Back to Painscreek. This time, I visit the hospital and return to the manor. More and more of this town's shady history is coming to light. youtu.be/NhU4_3auvKsyoutu.bePlaying The Painscreek Killings, Digging DeeperYouTube video by jssf1992 000
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 18/09/2026Huh, I actually prefer the character having a reason to not go somewhere instead of the invisible. Obstacles are a mix, but good so long as they don't look like something I should be able to get around at some point. 121
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 17/09/2026From the time I played the very first game, the Bracer Guild has always stood out as a masterful piece of storytelling that not only made the general sidequests of RPGs make sense, but also presented one of the most idealized forms of, well, law enforcement isn't the right, and maybe for the best. 000
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Back to Painscreek. jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 10/09/2026Today it has occurred to me that the sentence "If there's one thing I hate more than a crow it's a murder." is both grammatically correct and a pun. 000

jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 09/09/2026Right, there's a difference between background information and an actual plot that happens during the story. Tolkien is a really obvious example of having both, and you would think that Souls players would have enough patience to read The Lord of the Rings, all things considered. 010

jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 30/08/2026As much as I wish I could be ZUN, I am not. Sadly I am very much on the first side. I understand coding logic, but my focus is on writing. Thus I use RPGMaker, then I get told off for using RPGMaker with base assets even though that's literally why I'm using RPGMaker. 150
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 30/08/2026When I was a kid, I wanted so badly to get into this game because my father played it a lot. I pretty soon realized that MMOs just don't work for an introvert like me, but it's one of only two I've really put time into, and why I can understand the appeal even if it's not for me. 000
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 28/08/2026Please join me as I examine the character of Odysseus in Epic: The Musical. jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 22/08/2026The closest I have seen a game get to being pitch perfect on multiplayer is Left 4 Dead. Somehow, despite my dislike of the zombie genre I have fun whenever I play with friends. 000
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 22/08/2026I can easily imagine that's it is a lot of fun to come up with cool, fun things to do with friends, only to have the constraints of reality get in the way. Many things need to line up the right way for any game to reach it's full potential. (Probably not the clearest I could have made that) 110
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 22/08/2026I should note, the second time buying Empire at War was for the mod scene. The devs were nice enough to fix up stuff for modders in recent years, but it meant that the digital version became needed for the big mods. Still worth it to me, and I don't feel bad when the devs are willing to do that. 030
jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 22/08/2026Depends on what you're looking for. Story wise, I'ld probably say Trails in the Sky, or Mass Effect. Gameplay, I'ld still say that Empire at War was worth buying. Twice even. 120

jssf1992 @jssf1992.bsky.social · 19/08/2026I saw the movie to write an essay comparing the book to the movie. The book, to this day, is the only book I lost sleep over, due to being too anxious about to stop reading until it was (almost finished). I probably read half of that book in one night. 010
