It’s interesting. Who do you call when something doesn’t work, or there’s a bug? That certainly gets costly having AI fix those things. And what if your company, or you, vibe code an adobe replacement. Can you put that on your resume when job searching?

@garmin.com on your touchscreen forerunner line of watches, can the “Sleep mode” and “Find my Phone” icons not be next to each other? Accidentally tapped Find my Phone when I was getting ready for bed, and now I’m wide awake from my phone’s alert.

I have found myself subconsciously opting not to read obviously AI generated PR Descriptions/one pagers, etc. I still greatly value human written versions of them. You can see the proper mental model. It’s written by a human for a human.

I have a skill for the agent to pull down tickets, open a branch, do the work, and open a PR for review. The flow works great. But the actual code is meh. It could definitely get better over time. But I would not associate my name with ai written code blindly. And probably not anytime soon.

The more I use AI the more impressed and less scared I get. It’s great at certain tasks, especially with cleaning up/writing docs and tickets. The housekeeping things that fall to the wayside. It still struggles with what I think are simple hands off coding tasks.

I should not be receiving “Still thinking about it..?” Emails from a company when I received an email ”order placed” 5 minutes prior.

Question is, when will investors want their money back? 2031 time horizon seems too far off.

Finally got my Ayn Thor. It’s been great getting to replay games that defined my childhood. No multiplayer, no online notifications, achievements, in game micro transactions. It’s quite freeing.

Every day my cat hides my AirPods somewhere. Today, they were underneath the couch alongside two of his other favorite toys. If the AirPods didn’t have find my support, I would never see them again

I am thoroughly enjoying learning SvelteKit! (AI helped me get here) I think next I'm going to try a UI library like Skeleton to give the frontend a go on my own.

Using AI at work, I've had to really be thoughtful with the prompts/information I feed it. Without me explaining proper context and follow up information it simply can't do what I ask of it. At this point, AI still needs skilled operators to know what to ask/evaluate if what it says is valid.

I’ve been mesmerized by sand crabs all vacation

I finally found a side programming project to work on that is engaging to work on, will help me learn a ton, and( if I finish it) could be a a cool contribution to the self hosting community. 😬

I ended up doing this. I couldn’t be happier with the end result. My PC is in a fractal ridge. Temps are phenomenal. I’ve had zero problems with system stability.

Finally got around to playing and finishing Star Wars Jedi Survivor. Withholding one gripe, the story was fantastic. The game felt less linear than the first. I wish the PC port wasn’t so terrible. It kept me from wanting to do side quests/extras. I only played through the main story.

@jakebaldino.com do you know of any video games like “The Notebook” side story? I haven’t found any. Being Split Fiction is a love letter to video games, I’d have to think there’s SOMETHING out there like it!

Strong agree. I think an over reliance on AI is net bad. We as a society may have easily accessible surface level knowledge. AI summarizes take away the need for deep understanding. Which I think is a skill we shouldn’t lose.

Talos Linux is really something special. Setting up a three node k8s cluster in less than half an hour (while reading documentation for the first time) is awesome. No Ansible or kubespray needed 🙌
