I'm so glad the funds will be used to make D.C. safe and beautiful! That's a much better use than funding creative projects that will enlighten people, give them a glimpse into different worlds, offer them new ideas, and sustain them in difficult times. **eye roll**

For all those who think the idea that humans can affect the climate is new, this headline is from an article in The Miami Evening Record, October 27, 1906. “Danger to climate.” 1906, people!!!!

Got a new character so looking up names in Social Security database for folks born in 1899. Surprised to see John was a name given to girls; the 462nd most popular name for girls, above Susanna, Natalie, Clementine. I've met women named James and Kevin, but never John. Any female Johns out there?

It’s been a week, hasn’t it? And somehow it’s only Tuesday. This gal is the only thing keeping me sane. What’s keeping you sane?

This is my WIP. It’ll be a sweater. But I’m using a fussy yarn, so if you look closely, you’ll see lots of split yarn.

If the question is, “Jennifer, are you useful in a crisis?” the answer is no. No, I am clearly not useful in a crisis.

In the @newyorktimes.bsky.social in 1908: A woman traveled for two months with one suitcase. She even--gasp!--had to do her own laundry! But she set a good example for her sex, so I suppose it was worth it. timesmachine.nytimes.com/timesmachi…
