Last year it appeared the MAGAts were coming for Equal Marriage as their next anti-woke campaign so @matthewcroxford.bsky.social & I decided to get married again while we were in Texas for Mom's birthday. That makes today our first Texasversary 🎉 My lovely husband composed this little ditty for me ❤️

The man whose voyages unleashed untold horrors on the indigenous peoples of the Americas. I really struggle with the idea of maintaining monuments in his honour - or national holidays for that matter. But the view from the top was pretty special.

Giant Miró tapestry from below and above and a maquette of a sculpin Paris. The museum also includes two works by Calder, who I was surprised to find out was a close friend of the artist.

Stephen Miller screeching about morality while lying about entitlements fraud is the ultimate in hypocrisy. I trust the 'average person' way more than I trust 75% of US politicians and 100% of the members of this administration.

A portion of Stephen Miller's speech at a conference convened to discuss ways to stamp out fraud in US state-federal partnership programs.

Productive afternoon in the potting shed. Now we just need some rain!

There's a first time for everything. I had a Nicotiana seedling that never matured last summer. Against all odds it survived the winter and is now flourishing. Does that make it a biennial? 🌱

This is one of those instant classic sports photos, as Jo Adell made his 3rd home run stopping catch of the game. But it's the reaction of the fan on the right that makes this a winner for me.

Baseball player is fully extended to make a catch as he falls into the seats. On the right a fan clutches his arms to his chest in shock.

My 87 year old mother, a lifelong Democrat, on the way to vote in the Texas primary elections yesterday. Giving me Blind Al vibes. Looking like good news all round for Democrats in Texas but they still have a steep hill to climb in November.
