I say this mainly as a joke pointing to the severe inequities that exist in finding work. I read this op ed thinking, man, it must be good being God's favorite.
This was not a scientific survey, and the respondents were not randomly selected. I assembled a list of recent hires based on social media and corporate announcements and reached out to them directly via email, LinkedIn or X.

Truly incredible journalism you will not covered by mainstream media that humanizes the victims|community of the bombing at the Minab school & holds the historical imperialist machinations of the US under detailed scrutiny.
"Trump is not the first U.S. president to attack the court. In 2002, President George W. Bush signed into law a bipartisan bill, subsequently known in the human rights community as the “Hague Invasion Act,” permitting the use of military force to free any U.S. or allied personnel charged with war crimes by the court."

Frantz Fanon, Wretched of the Earth page 133:
"The more the people understand, the more vigilant they become he more they realize in fact that everything depends On them and that their salvation lies in their solidarity, in recognizing their interests and identifying their enemies. The people understand that wealth is not the fruit of labor but the spoils from an orga- nized protection racket. 'The rich no longer seem respectable men but flesh-eating beasts, iackals and ravens who wallow ir the blood of the people." Frantz Fanon, Wretched of the Earth page 133

1 of my local papers really has no longer has beat reporters dedicated to the city of Miami & city of Miami Beach.
The Miami Herald, which had 20 layoffs and eliminated 10 vacant positions, lost its city of Miami and city of Miami Beach beats, said deputy investigations editor Carol Marbin Miller.

Targeting of activist and so-called pre-crime policing, good old American traditions via shiny new oppressive technology
This kind of pre-crime policing, encouraged without due process, is referenced as an explicit goal by Anthropic’s security program manager in the podcast reviewed by the Prospect. “The goal would be transforming operations from reactive information to gathering proactive and predictive and preventative threat engagement and management,” he said, adding, “That’s the kind of operational maturity that makes sense for protecting high-value targets in any industry.”

The things I could write about my metropolitan area that have run counter to this statement could fill books.
“Miami-Dade County has spent decades building a reputation as a world-class destination for tourism, business, investment, and opportunity,” stated Bermudez. “We should be promoting the Miami-Dade we have worked so hard to build, not a fictional version of our community defined by crime and violence.”

Pierre Damas Bel:
“I came to this country to pursue my education. I didn’t come here to commit a crime or hurt anyone,” he wrote on Instagram in late July. “Yet now I’m walking through the streets of the United States with a GPS monitor on my leg, carrying a feeling of shame and humiliation that I never imagined I would experience.” Pierre Damas Bel

Excellent reporting here about the opioid settlement funds being used for the police state vs the affected communities
In sum, Mother Jones found that 19 agencies in ten different states spent more than $920,000 in opioid funds on Flock and other ALPRs, a likely undercount given the inconsistency with which opioid settlement expenditures are tracked and disclosed across states and local jurisdictions.

Great essay about "Woke 1.0". Very well said
This was the latest in a long cycle of white backlash that has been constant since at least the civil rights era. And since we have allowed the right to dominate the structure of discourse for so long—whether in defining what “woke” is, or what extremism is, or what free speech is—we’re now in a stage where the supposedly sensible thing is to disavow one of the biggest protest movements in modern history because those that saw police violence against Black people as routine are now framing that movement as a time of lunacy.

Everyone provided some great insight in the 10th year anniversary of Bullet Points Monthly. But right here: this is putting a scorching pen to paper
What's advertised to the poor are games that are jobs and casinos together. You can play Fortnite on your phone. And Roblox. And Genshin Impact. These are all almost endless games with quotas, tasks, "something for everyone," and endless slots to throw in endless coins. The irony is that the past of videogames, and the margins scattered across itch.io and self-hosted websites, is more accessible than ever. But those things require you to be in the know and they won't be advertised to you on TikTok.

I can only assume the former writer was operating on some rightful, "hey y'all come look at this bullshit over here" Because buddy, I'd take this response real personal & might pray on a person's downfall
The Saber CEO personally attacked the former Saber developer as being replaced by “someone more talented,” but didn’t deny that generative AI is involved in “certain parts of the game,” which will eventually be disclosed on Rideshare’s Steam page.

“Stella who?” Karch’s statement to TWIVG began. “I had to ask Claude because I have never spoken to her or seen her. We have already said we are using AI for certain parts of the game and will update the Steam page once we have finalized the feature set.”

Oh I see...
“Every visit, every session, and every moment of attention creates a signal,” Reed said. “When we connect those signals, they become actionable intelligence that allows us to engage users more effectively and monetize those relationships faster and at much greater value. The work our team is doing with Palantir is a direct extension of this strategy.

Tricontinental spitting bars
Insecurity can give rise to solidarity, or it can be used to persuade the masses to blame immigrants, oppressed castes, religious or racialised minorities, women, or other workers. The crisis of an old hegemony can open the road to the left – through organisation and struggle – or it can open the road to the far right – through fear, resentment, and scapegoating. Conditions do not speak for themselves; they must be interpreted, and the struggle over their interpretation is part of the struggle for social power. But interpretation is not formed in the abstract. It is forged through collective activity. -tricontinental

Great article from The Cut people admitting their struggling is a taboo on social media. We are all conditioned in the US to internalize our livelihood are our fault. Never mind the fact our lives are the result of oppressive systems across race, class, etc that moves like a well oiled machine
The Cut - "For all the diversity of experience I encountered, I found a broad consensus on the most basic rule of engagement: You can’t admit to struggle — at least not while you’re struggling. Doing so represents a failure so profound it’s almost existential"

Great insight from @shineyezehuhh.bsky.social on the journalistic struggles with conducting anime interviews.
At my most sardonic, I find humor in the challenge of asking pertinent and provocative questions, given that the above process only yields questions like whether my interviewees liked the colors, shapes, and sounds they saw in a show. At my most exasperated, I ask myself what we are even doing here, grumble about how the integrity of my work is being compromised, and wonder whether I should just slide my keyboard to my interviewees so they can write it up themselves, since I’m a middleman whose journalistic purpose feels ground to dust.

Read Ken's report & then I read the State Department's 100 page pdf report on Cuba. I gotta say this is an incredible piece of mask off US imperialist propaganda. But anyway, a good historical analysis on this subject is Dr CBS' book Black Scare / Red Scare.

This Stanford report isn't shocking in the least. Would explain why multiple professional done resumes might as well be party confetti in this job market.
A new study surveyed the AI company Pymetrics and found that 15% of Asian applicants and 26% of Black applicants applied to jobs where the artificial intelligence tool appeared to be biased against their racial group.
