I'm so sorry for your loss. I've heard it said that we humans are brave to share a home with a loved one that will likely precede us in death. I'm old, but as long as we are able, we'll rescue. May your pet's memory be a blessing.

My ol' kitty, Cleo. She's 12, we think. We got her from an org that helps place pets of folks who went to hospice. She would hiss at us just for looking at her wrong. I'm guessing she's feeling somewhat at home.
