As the march toward disempowering women continues, mostly in the courts, I’m reminded that: Hillary was right. About everything. Kamala knew who Trump was, and she told us. Anita Hill warned us abo…

Long before I was a teenager, there were these movies on Saturday afternoons on television that featured Judy Garland and Mickey Rooney. There were a bunch of them, but they all had the same theme:…

I doubt that this is going to make a difference to anyone in power, but I have to try. Last night at nearly midnight, you voted to end this country’s morals and values by agreeing to move for…

I know it’s not election season yet, and I think it’s possible that we may never have another election, but before we close down shop, I want to ask a question that is normally asked during electio…

There was a time when everyone knew these things, so I thought I’d try to bring us back to those days with these thoughts… think of it as a “philosophical pallet cleanser”. Kidnapping is a crime. I…

Juneteenth is today, so I want to do a little thought experiment. The story of Juneteenth, as I understand it is that today is the day the news got to Texas that all the slaves had been freed… long…

I saw the news today that ICE has deported 100,000 “illegal aliens” and had to say something . Mostly, though, I have questions. The Big One: WHAT DID THEY DO? How do we know that they&#…

I just attended a Bible Study on the book of Acts , particularly as it apples to LGBTQ+ people and the expanse of Christianity from being an exclusive sect of Judaism to being an inclusive religion…

I guess this is Memorial Day Weekend. I always think of it as being the last days of the month, (i.e the 31st), but here it is and I guess it’s this weekend. As a pastor and a pacifist, I really ha…

The “Big, Beautiful, Bill” may be big, but it is not beautiful. In fact, it’s so ugly … (How ugly is it?) that even Republicans don’t like it, and they have a “t…

I just listened/ watched a Zoom conversation with one of the Little Rock Nine and I realized something based in what she said. The woman said she prays for Donald Trump weekly as part of her faith …

I hear you folks are anti-science now, and anti-education as well, but I have a question for you: If a plane starts at 20,000 feet in the air and suddenly drops 5,000 then 5,000 more, but the pilot…

Ok, MAGA folks and Republicans in Congress, forget the Constitution. Apparently that doesn’t work for you. Forget the Rule of Law. That’s been over for a while now. Let’s try something else: your s…

I just listened to Rebecca Solniz on a Nation podcast and was so inspired by her, I thought I’d ask different questions today.

It started years ago, partly of our own devising, and partly due to the zeitgeist, the German word the means “spirit of the times”. No one knows how it gets here or how it comes on a nation, but ev…

I’m not generally given to paranoia, so I feel comfortable putting this out, though I hope I’m wrong. As a retired therapist, I’m used to examining behavior and asking “Why does this person do some…

I’m watching the funeral of Jimmy Carter and I am so struck by so many things from my past, so many beliefs I remember “all” of us used to have, or so I thought. I’m also struck by church, the “mai…
