Moving on Thursday and the remnants of hurricane Polo will be dumping an inch of rain on Chicago that day.

As much as I'm geeked about the iPhone Duo I gave in and got a regular 18 Pro this year. Not too keen on the matte screen protector and have some serious questions about the camera set up. Maybe next year.

Lady, you have no idea what you’re talking about. This was absolutely shown during the immediate live broadcasts

Just spent 10 minutes arguing with Google Home that it is not, in fact, August 26th. Every answer it gave it hallucinated more fake information. If this is the best Silicon Valley can do, we’re cooked.

Microsoft Copilot has absolutely lost it over the last few weeks. It worked reliably and accurately for a long time for creating/updating formulas in excel, but recently the amount of errors and hallucinations has skyrocketed to the point it’s borderline unusable.

I am completely obsessed with the Enterprise D lego set.

Is there anything more satisfying to listen to than the Tonight quintet from West Side Story? (Rhetorical question)

Starfleet Academy seems to have one of the best first seasons going of any Trek series ever, maybe with Strange New Worlds as the exception.

Is it an ominous sign when you get in your EV in the morning and your radio is stuck on 40s music like you’re in an episode of Fallout?

Professional venting: PeopleSoft queries are the most obnoxious and unintuitive process I have encountered in any software ever.

Caught up with the most recent episode of Starfleet Academy, and this show may be shaping up to be one of my favorite Trek shows ever.

Time for a social media break.

JB @jrichmnd.bsky.social · 17/01/2026

Starfleet Academy is very pleasantly surprising. The joyful, exuberant type of Trek that is so enjoyable to watch.

Third week being sick and started getting worse (after getting better) so the doc finally prescribed antibiotics. Good news, save for that antibiotics make me nauseous but maybe I can finally be rid of this cough I’ve had for over a week.

I haven’t had a sinus infection since Covid after having one really bad one every year since high school. Got one while traveling for work and I forgot how absolutely miserable I am when I have one.

Trump’s racism on full display: The Department of Education is doing more identity verification for students receiving federal aid. My school got updates this week and 100% of those getting selected have foreign-sounding names. Just unbelievably racist nonsense.

I am moving to the last round of interviews for a job in my department that is a full two levels above me and I am very confused. Lack of self confidence is the worst feeling.
