Highly recommend the new Tom Rosenstiel book, "The Next Journalism." It's full of examples, but its real value is its guidance in getting journalists thinking in fresh ways about our craft and mission, and particularly about how we engage with our communities. This is fertile ground.
A well-marked copy of the book.

I’m currently in upstate NY, in an area with a lot of elderly people, and I just saw a spry fellow who looks almost exactly like Mitch McConnell, and for a moment there I thought I’d just landed the biggest goddamned scoop of my life.
