I suspect I will forget my first born's name before I forget that he goes birling down and down white water, that's where the log driver learns to step lightly...

Every Canadian kid who grew up watching TV in the 80s/90s can tell you that the log driver's waltz pleases girls completely. youtu.be/upsZZ2s3xv8?...

While Captain Tractor is the cover, being Alberta based gives their version the authentic prairie pirate soul that those laurentian elite's in the arrogant worms will never understand!!!

Pull-up (top) vs [failed] chin-up (bottom). When done correctly, they both work similar muscle groups but with slightly different emphasis. Because of the narrower grip and more bicep engagement, chin-ups are usually considered easier for beginners - but proper form is still important.

Okay, but does it bother anyone else that the "deep west end" is actually Vancouver's most northern neighborhood and also east of a lot of Vancouver?

Respectfully, what's going on with the kitchen floor? Is that a McDonald's tray down there??

If it was the Home Hardware on Davie, I'm shocked you only found one.

A&W Canada is a publicly traded company headquartered in North Vancouver, BC. It's been a seperate company from the American A&W (which is privately owned by Great American Brands) since the 1970s.

You forgot the part where Vancouver's northern most neighborhood is called the West End and that directly South of North Vancouver is East Van.

Just noticed the Janeway's bun is reminiscent of the bouffant worn by Gibson Girls. Gibson Girls being the fashionable style of the Edwardian Era until they were replaced by the Flappers of the 1920s... who famously wore their hair in a Bob. Probably not intentional but a neat coincidence.

I think you did a great job on the colours, so even if you'd just be willing to share those it would be a great help! Having to eyeball colours myself is my biggest weakness (when it comes to cross stitch, at least).

These are awesome! Did you use a pattern? Would love to try and recreate that Mario as part of one of my projects.

Them: "it's just a game!!" Chutes and Ladders: "I was literally designed as a morality tool to teach people how to behave correctly."

Jeeeeee @jrbcan.bsky.social · 26/01/2025

Really interesting that they chose Chutes and Ladders as an example of a game it would be a reach to consider political...

A paragraph from Wikipedia explaining the religious and philosophical origins of Chutes and Ladders and it's use as a tool for teaching morality.

I love that it's written that way in the original text too. Such a good read of the best line (IMO) in the whole story.
