KOB disparaging Deb Haaland for declining to debate her opponent on their terms. Meanwhile, here’s the guy who owns KOB.

Good morning! What a beautiful name, Casa de Esperanzas. Hoping for a wee bit o’ sun this afternoon! Looking forward to Saturday, when Jules and I will be reading at the Placitas Library, 2 pm.

Good morning! Went up to Santa Fe last night to see our favorite band, Bébé La La. They were terrific, with some new songs and a great reed player. But got caught in thirty miles of downpour on the way back.

Good morning! Wonderful documentary yesterday at NHCC about our 89 year old friend Martha Heard’s remarkable life, made by Spanish filmmakers. She’s chronicled the oral history of a small village there and done something similar in Wells Park, Albuquerque. A treasure!

Good morning! Jealous. We had thunder but no rain again. Sunflowers are doing well though. Need to write a story about Jack and the Sunflower Stalk!

A long list of Trump legal flunkies have been sanctioned or disbarred. Now a judge has referred Todd Blanche to state bar associations for possible disciplining.

Happy Saturday. Almost finished with watering. Wish I could join you all but still catching up with errands. Heading to friend’s 92 birthday party this afternoon. What would an Isotopes game be without the Red, Green, and Taco race?

Good morning! Waiting for the fog to burn off here on the California coast. We fly back tonight. Toured poet Robinson Jeffers’ home, Tor House, and Hawk Tower, which he built by hand from stones he hauled up from the beach. Jeffers was famous enough to be on the cover of Time in 1932.

Good morning! Enjoying time with friends visiting. Got a new phone this week since my pandemic-era phone kept crapping out. Love the new camera for quail pics!

Good morning! Getting un-jet-lagged. Another warm day. Here’s more pics: St. Paul’s Landmark Building and Conservatory. Minneapolis gets all the attention, but there’s something to be said for this low-key, quite diverse city with lots of historic architecture.

Good morning! We’re back from the Twin Cities. Got to see a lot of friends and relatives, and the weather was just about perfect. Stopped by St. Paul’s Como Park Conservatory before heading to the airport yesterday.

Did visit the Alex Pretti memorial in Minneapolis on Sunday. Heartbreaking, especially the stethoscopes left by other nurses and doctors.

Good morning! Perfect day in ABQ for the protest. Got near enough to the stage to get some shots of Stacey Abrams, who gave a terrific speech. Watched a good bit of the MN rally on YouTube, including performances by our friend Venus DeMars, plus Larry Long with friend Jacqueline Ultan on cello.

Just an intimate dinner among friends. Noam Chomsky, Woody Allen, two unidentified women, and Jeffrey Epstein.

John Roche @jr-placitas.bsky.social · 31/01/2026

Perhaps the most horrifying thing about the Epstein Files is the realization that our Elites, for all their differences, are united by two things: their urge to make money, and their eagerness to rape and torture children.

I’m afraid there will be no accountability until one of Epstein’s “clients” has a pang of remorse and speaks up, naming names. I’m looking at you, Lady Lindsay. No, I don’t expect anyone to come forward.

Good morning. Hard to think about anything but Minneapolis. So many of Jules’s old friends there are really distraught, especially those in the neighborhood (quite close to the scene of the George Floyd murder). But we did get some rain, with more predicted. And the mountains have sugar.
