By combining traditional administrative records with visual data, we get a much more comprehensive understanding of past socio-occupational structures and household economies. Photographs aren't just illustrations; they are crucial primary evidence!

Official censuses often made women's work invisible, mostly recording them as teachers, seamstresses, or domestic workers. In contrast, our visual census reveals a strong female presence in healthcare, hospitality, cleaning services, and sports.

We applied computer vision techniques like image classification, detection, and captioning to historical photos from Baix Llobregat. This transformed raw pixels into a "visual census" (the Photo-BALL database) estimating age, sex, and work activities.

Buscando estadísticas de Tw encontré en un informe global de este año algo que no sabía: La distribución por genero es mucho más desequilibrada que en otras RRSS: de cada 10 twitteros 7 son hombres y 3 son mujeres. Eso explica muchas cosas.
