Here's where I was Wednesday for a conference. It's Great Falls on the Androscoggin. I was in Auburn looking toward Lewiston. Absolutely perfect day and I was stuck inside. Of course. The hotel folks said the rain we'd had a couple of days before was only reason it was flowing so hard.

It's a big state. And I probably have visited more places because I like checking out places. I'm a coastal kid, so I've swanned to more places just for fun. Like Pemaquid. I'd not been before this year. Who knows why not.

Have some pretty Maine pictures from yesterday.

A few miles and a few minutes later, this view from atop Blueberry Hill. I can't decide which I like better. Not sure if you can see it, but along the ridge in places are wind turbines.

It's raining. Finally.

Little known Maine law that if you visit The County in August, you have to stop and buy potatoes.

I'm surrounded by fireflies. I'm so happy. There are scores of them. This is the field across the road. You can't see how many because the camera can't pick up the ones farther away. Probably need to turn the video horizontal to see them well.

Tonight's sunset up beyond the back yard. Tomorrow is our only sunny day this week.

Miss my freckled boy. I can't believe it's almost 3 years. He was 5 years old here.

A mostly white dog stretches out his legs, which have lots black freckles. He has a black nose and a freckled muzzle, but his ears are all black and he looks like he's wearing a black mask with a white stripe up his forehead. And around his tummy are his favorite aunt's arms.
