Claude has an attempted snarkiness that I appreciate compared to other models Claude: I warned you about this, you should have done a complex refactor five iterations ago Me: It shouldn't be written that way at all, make the easy fix Claude: The user pushed back on my design, let's update one line!

Can anyone explain how @spotiy.bsky.social generates the daily mix playlists? I feel like I usually have one that's Jazz and one that's musicals, but every other day they swap and I have to switch playlists to figure out which is which.

This is a very credible accusation of incredibly bad behaviour by Platner. On a moral level, he should not be a candidate for office, we should only be wanting our best people there. Even on a straight political level, he's not going to be able to run this race well and should drop out.

www.nytimes.com/2026/05/17/u... The court factoring her beliefs into the sentence seems wrong, and it was probably right of the appeals court to order resentencing. Caving to Trump and granting clemency before that played out was an embarrassing move by my governor @colorado.gov though.

It's crazy that we've had this proposal for weeks now, there's been bipartisan agreement for over a week, and it's still not done. WTF do house Republicans think they're accomplishing? Does anyone there think this looks good for them? www.nytimes.com/interactive/...
DAY 42: Senate Republicans and Democrats agreed to fund D.H.S., minus parts of ICE and C.B.P., through Sept. 30.
House Republicans, backed by Trump, rejected it. Then Congress began a two-week recess.

DAY 47: Trump changed his mind and agreed to the deal to fund the D.H.S., minus parts of ICE and C.B.P. Republican leadership in both houses, with support from Democrats, announced the deal.

DAY 48: after the Senate passed the bill, hard-right House Republicans revolted and the bill was not put up for a vote.

DAY 57: The stalemate continues.

It's insane that we have any representatives who claim to be looking at this and thinking "nah, everything is fine, still onboard with the president running a war with no congressional input!"

It's a nice ad: "Our model is so good, imagine what it would do in the wrong hands" Scary thing is that we know other models are going to catch up soon. If it is truly that dangerous, this only counts as a small head start.

This is insane, if you're an American looking at this and don't feel embarrassed, you could probably do with some reflection. We're supposed to be the good guys. We're not supposed to be threatening war crimes. We're not even supposed to have started this unforced war to begin with!

apnews.com/article/pres... This makes me uncomfortable. Lawmakers deciding who is or is not a journalist is scary. Obviously, if there needs to be a line somewhere, that line should be crystal clear and drawn well in advance. Declining emergency relief seems reasonable though.

www.platformer.news/grammarly-ex... great article by @caseynewton.bsky.social This is far more horrifying to me than most AI excesses. Not only stealing authors' work to power the models, but also using their image, without permission or compensation, to try to legitimatize the resulting slop.

It drives me insane that this administration thinks they can do whatever they want until another institution stops them. Our government should strive to act within our laws, the constitution, and their underlying values. Looking for loopholes to throw at your enemies is absurd and antidemocratic.

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.
