Several Republican Senators made fools of themselves in today’s Jack Smith hearing but Missouri Sen. Schmitt won the prize by sternly declaring Smith was in Atlanta for an improper purpose when in fact he was watching Caitlin Clark against Maryland. Bizarre!

Congrats to the Des Moines Register for today’s decision by a Judge to dismiss Trump’s frivolous lawsuit claiming its poll by Ann Selzer was intentionally misleading. Now justice would be well served by imposing a financial penalty on Trump and his lawyers for bringing this ridiculous suit.

Yesterday Thomas Massie introduced am impeachment bill re Pete Hegseth. It’s privileged and by House rules needs to be voted on within 48 hours. Today Speaker Johnson sent the House home earlier than planned. That’s the Speaker’s way to delay an impeachment vote and try to whip votes against it.
