Did that Accent Oracle thing. Took it five times to be sure. Four times out of five it said “South African (Afrikaans)” and guessed confidently that I was from the Cape Town metro area. I have a kind of British/Zimbabwean accent so South African is a decent guess, but I’ve never been to Cape Town.

BoldVoice claims with 99% certainty that JP’s accent is “South African (Afrikaans)”, with 81% certainty for Cape Town, 13% for Johannesburg–Pretoria and 6% for Durban. The other 1% was for Netherlands.

A very weird phenomenon that seems to have started, at least locally for me, is one of people not coming to get packages that get delivered to their neighbours when they’re not in. I’ve got blinds here that I took in for neighbours a few days ago, but they’ve never picked them up for some reason.

Picked up this French indie game called Dordogne today for half price and am giving it a bash this evening. I'm only about an hour and a half in but I'm quite enjoying it; has a bit of a Shenmue feel to it.

Here’s my setup, which is mostly modded consoles. My Dreamcast, PS1 and GameCube here all run off SD cards. My PS2 runs games off an SSD. N64 is standard, just a stock expansion pak. The NES and SNES here are the Mini versions. I also have a Dreamcast still with disc drive, PS3 and another PS2.
