Hey all, I’ve been away for a little while, dealing with some physical and mental health issues, but I am doing better now and I hope to start posting more on here again, I don’t think I’ll get back to daily post anytime soon, but hopefully I won’t disappear for whole weeks anymore.

GoldenEye for the N64 released in North America 29 years ago today, one of the first successful FPS titles on console, it’s control scheme while revolutionary at the time has not aged well, but most people don’t know it has a dual analog mode that uses two N64 controllers.

Some would call Sega the King of the add-on, and this is true from a certain point of view, but the NES hides a secret, very few games made after 85 would play on the base NES, almost every cartridge would utilize 1 of over 20 mapper chips designed to push the system far beyond its limits

For the love of the game. in this era of mindless token munchers and creatively bankrupt mobile ports, few companies still make true arcade experiences, the most notable of these is Raw Thrills, keeping the arcade legacy alive with their takes on Jurassic Park and the Cruis’n series among others

So similar but so different. The two longest running JRPGs, Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy seem very similar on the surface, but the biggest thing that sets them apart is continuity, Dragon Quest has always told one continuous story, but Final Fantasy has reinvented itself for almost every entry
