Not sure how the Department of the Interior just has a spare $2.5 billion sitting around, but our National Parks could have used some of that for upkeep. Talk about waste, fraud and abuse. Congress needs to cut that department’s budget until this regime is out. Yeah, call me a dreamer…

My mother was a child of the Depression and it showed in her habits as an adult (squirreling cash away in odd places, recycling before it was a thing, catching rainwater for plants). She did share some stories (the emphasized pluckiness) but I know she hid a lot away, as did my dad, even more so.
