J'aime bien l'image de la boite magique. De fait on en est là. C'est un outil qui a du sens mais uniquement si un humain peut valider ses résultats... Donc côté "l'IA pour savoir si c'est de l'IA", c'est mal barré.
3 panel comis from Aram J. French.
First: Two guys are facing each other. One says "We invented a robot that answers questions"
Second: Zoom out, we see that the speaking guy has a robot behind him. He continues "We just have to feed it 10 baby giraffes a day"
Third panel: Second guy: "But it answers the questions correctly?". First guy: "Oh my goodness no. No no no no no"

Tu leur a demandé si Bordeaux c'était quand on avait été gentils ou méchants? Tes gamins c'est Calvin et Hobbes:
A Calvin and Hobbes strip in four panels.
- Calvin and Hobbes are relaxing in the grass. Calvin asks "I wonder where we go when we die"
- We see them from behind the hill, there is a silence
- Hobbes answers "Pittsburgh ?"
- From behind again, Calvin asks "You mean if we're good or if we're bad?"

On the four next panel the character plays inside the ball saying "Sweet!".

Mandatory @tomgauld.bsky.social on this
A comics in four panel by Tom Gauld, in sepia/monochronous tones. There are two people talking in each:

First panel shows a castle on top of a mountain with two speech bubbles:
- Husband: "Now that you are my bride you'll never leave this castle
- Wife: Wow! Your library is amazing!

Second panel shows a large male character with a cane and a smaller women character facing a library

- Husband: Beyond this castle is a high wall with not gate, and beyond that is a deep dark forest with no path
- Wife: I suppose it's my library too now. We're married.

Third panel shows the same character, with the women having selected a pile of books

- Husband: The forest is crawling with ravenous wolves, malignant birds and the spirit of long dead travallers
- Wife: So many books ! I can't believe my luck!

Fourth panel shows the husband flying out with bat like wings while the wife sit with a book

- Husband: When the sun sets I transform into a wild beast and soar into the night, seized by a terrible bloodlust!
- Wife: OK. I'll stay here and read. See you in the morning.

Always thinking of this quote "The problem with the tech industry is that we see ourselves as the Rebel Alliance, but we've become the Empire". Looks like Palentir is just more at ease with that than others. This is chilling.
A Palentir ads that they'll run near colleages with as text "A moment of reckoning has arrived for the West. Our culture has fallen into shallow consumerism while abandoning national purpose. Too few in Silicon Valley have asked what ought to be built - and why. We did. We built Palentir to ensure America's future, not to tinker at the margins. On the factory floor, in the operating room, across the battlefield - we field to dominate.

Sam Altman swearing fealty to Donald Trump + a plan of 500B of investment in AI for "strategic capability to protect the national security of America and its allies" (openai.com/index/announ...) is scary as hell - not only for the US ennemies - but mainly for its own citizens.

Un Calvin et Hobbes (en anglais): Calvin: "I'm thinking of starting my own talk radio show. I'll spout simplistic opinions for hours on end, ridicule anyone who disagrees with me and generally foster divisieness, cynicism and a lower level of public dialog."
Hobbes: "It would seem you were born for the job".
Calvin: "Imagine getting paid to act like a six-year old!"

From the Financial Times, about Bitcoin - www.ft.com/content/8533...
FInancial Times Alphaville article excerpt:

"FTAV posts between June 2011 and today may have communicated the idea that bitcoin is a negative-sum game being played on a protocol that's very clever and hypothetically useful as a unit of account, but is chronically inefficient as a conventional means of exchange and is compromised as a store of value. Our posts may also have promoted the idea that the price of a bitcoin is an arbitrary hype gauge that's disconnected from any utility the token may have, because it's trivial to duplicate the utility provided by said token, so any intrinsic worth comes from the sunk costs of infrastructure alongside intangibles like regulatory acquiescence, interconnectedness with mainstream financial systems it was once sold as being the antidote to, and the souvenir attraction of "being the first"
We stand by every single one of those posts.
Nevertheless, with bitcoin's price recently crossing $100,000, a significant number of commenters seem to feel they deserve an apology in light of our longstanding cynicism, so here it is:
We're sorry if at any moment in the past 14 years you chose based on our coverage not to buy a thing whose number has gone up. It's nice when your number goes up. And we're sorry if you misunderstood our crypto cynicism to be a declaration of support for tradfi, because we hate that too.
