Good acquired! With thanks to my eldest daughter for driving me to the other side of the city & my youngest daughter for just coming along on the road trip. (For clarity, I can drive but hate the roadworks for the North-East link and don’t know the area well. My daughter drives all over town.)

We upgraded my safety equipment because I can't wear goggles or safety glasses when working with power tools. So far, this option is working out well.

The Bloke & I went to Shepparton in the truck, then detoured through the Strathbogie Tablelands for lunch and some rock hopping at Polly McQuinns weir, near Euroa. It was the perfect day out.

My neighbour will be mad. The visiting trio of black cockatoos just dropped a heap of chewed wattle tips onto his pool house roof. They had a wonderful time, chattering & chomping, before flying away to some other backyard tree.

We didn't get to the cabin this weekend, so I lit the fire pit that was full of fallen twigs and sat beside it with a coffee.

I'm beginning to think that I should have cut the fabric strips 2" wide. Sewing the thinner strips is difficult, especially as most of the fabrics fray. This section took me about 4 hours. And I don't think it's going to work as a backing as I'd planned. Oh well. Onwards and upwards.

I've been watching a lot of older movies because the slop being made nowadays is pretty ordinary. Tonight's viewing was Slipstream (1989) and it was one of those 'so bad it's good' movies. The locations used in the film were stunning.

She's been patched up and is housebound for the next week while her paws heal. I imagine she's going to be very vocal about that development, as she screams at us on an hourly basis to be let outside to drink some bog water.

I'm trying to finish projects that I start in a rush of excitement. Sometimes, I finish things and then they sit, waiting for me to decide whether to keep or sell. These cushions are the first 2 in a series of 6. I finally photographed & listed them for sale today. Hoping they'll find a new home.

Instead of pizza and beer, I opted for pear cider. I’ll probably regret my choices later tonight, because both tend to give me indigestion. At least the pizza is home made, so the ham is less salty.

I've decided to ignore work today & head back into the studio to play with polymer clay. Lots of experimentation is taking place. I made this really cool bead as a happy accident.

With everything happening in the world ATM, this seems like useless frippery. But crafting is my happy place and I'm so pleased with how these beads turned out. An added bonus was that they survived the baking process.( I burnt the previous clay project in a pizza oven.)

I used to think my design style was heavily influenced by Mid-Century modern, but now I’m going to go with eclectic maximalism.

I bought this can opener from Muji a few years ago because my Magican opener wouldn't cut through the high lip of the beetroot tin. It's all I use now.

I am that person that will buy a unique piece of furniture from the Op-shop, even if I don't have space for it in my house. It might clutter up a room for a bit, but it will eventually find it's place. This amazing coffee table just fit in the back of my car, so it was obviously meant to be mine.

I used to be able to finish a project like this in a day. But I faffed about and took my time because the fabric can be difficult to sew. One cover is finished with the 2nd one partially done. I’ll get the inners tomorrow.

The verdict is in. This is not at all unpleasant. It reminds me of IKEA ginger thins, or those cinnamon scroll biscuits we used to get when I was younger. There's also hints of almond, like Amaretto. I'm pleasantly surprised.

The studio clean up is done! The overflow is mostly sorted. Next up are the piles of things that magically keep appearing all over the house.
