Yo, we have a bit of an emergency, @journalscollective.bsky.social member @twelve-dtm.bsky.social has recently lost their job and is now about to loose their housing. They have until october 1st to make their rent bill, if they miss that date, they are homeless. gofund.me/12865d5be

twelve is really good at sound design/mixing/mastering, especially in heavier electronic genres, so if you do need help with sth this is like an insanely good deal, even if you put the "helping someone in a shit situation out" aside you can find some of their info here: linktr.ee/twelveax7music

It's Bandcamp Friday and my album just turned one years old! If you haven't heard it, you should check it out. It's a not-so-ambient expression of my decade-long identity crisis. If you're in to that, please grab a copy. the12ax7.bandcamp.com/album/stasis

We're doing a remix challenge for this tune on my discord, open to everyone & you get to distribute your remix as you like. Stems & more can be found here: discord.gg/AyCFqQjb4e Come join!

Remix my new song with @Ruby - burning tumbleweeds

The original can be heard on youtube and subvert:
https://www.subvert.fm/tildesounds/tracks/burning-tumbleweeds-feat-arlie-moore
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UR78RGeOFZc

How far you stray from the original is up to you, just use the stems in any way you want to create a new piece of music.

Feel free to do with your final remix whatever you want, put it on your soundcloud, bandcamp, streaming, whatever.
Just make sure to properly credit it as a remix in the title/description.

A few words on the stems: I had to remove a lot of bus processing & mastering, so theyll ofc sound slightly different. I tried to simplify/group them a bit to make them easier to work with.
All of the Basses have been bounced into one single stem, because theres never really two playing at once. The same has been done to the FX.
The melodic elements have been left individual, the drums have been grouped together (the snare stem eg contains a lot of different snare sounds).
You can download them all here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1f6lpLJdxJomahHblegFOIM2BeAfkZmkM/view?usp=sharing
(150 BPM, E-Phrygian (ish))

Post your final entries as an audio file in this thread until in 2 weeks(-ish)
Sunday the 31st of May.
The thread will close after the deadline.

Feel free to discuss your process in this thread while working on the sounds!
A failed attempt is always better than no attempt at all!

Good Luck!
