Thanks to DataCite’s GAF 2024, the DataMap/Amazon initiative transforms #climateresearch by centralizing, curating & improving access to Amazonian atmospheric data from key projects. The initiative enhances #datasharing, discoverability & collaboration across #LatinAmerica: doi.org/10.5438/w208...

The Image features a blog post header from DataCite discussing the Datamap/Amazon project, which is presented as the first integrated repository of scientific atmospheric data from the Amazon. It includes the names of authors Gabi Mejias and Pedro Luiz Pizzigatti Corrêa.

Love to see it! The University of Sheffield continue to move away from regressive, legacy, access deals: www.sheffield.ac.uk/library/news... I'm a big fan of @openresshef.bsky.social's support for equitable OA! I hope other libraries can also restructure their budgets to make this all sustainable!

Ana Persic @unesconow.bsky.social reminds us that "Science as a human right" is article 27 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (1948). It's been forgotten or seen as a luxury, lower priority. #extraction #OpenScience #openaccess #DOASummit #DIamondOpenAccess

Ana Persic @unesco.bsky.social shares that countries actually agree and aspire to have Diamond OA scholarly publishing, and points out that while the Recommendations on #OpenScience express common value framework, #DiamondOA deepens its implementation on the practical level. #DOASummit2024
