The likely culprit…

My morning started with a cup of coffee, wrangling two (very) active little boys, and then cleaning up a dead, half-desiccated crow carcass one of our cats delivered to our patio overnight and our resident raccoon family helped to chew up. Cat tax below.. #cats #coffeetime #livingthedream

It was also THE NIGHT THAT THE SKELETONS CAME TO LIFE! This is my first of three paintings in a series of horror parodies of Tim Robinson’s I Think You Should Leave. #itysl #horror #art
Part of a painting by Joshua Potter for Monsterpalooza featuring a large skeleton wearing an orange bandana, two smaller skeletons in black robes, a skeleton playing a bone flute à la Army of Darkness, a hooded skeleton pulling a woman’s hair up (but not out), a male music producer with his interest piqued, a concerned drummer, a thoroughly annoyed lead singer, and a hilariously obtuse bassist played by Tim Robinson. Spooky crescent moon in the sky, edges blended out. Spooky, wispy, blue-green haze added for mood. A horror art parody of a bit from a popular Netflix comedy series. I Think You Should Leave. Digitally painted in the Procreate App on an iPad Pro 11. It was also the night that the skeletons came to life! The bones are the skeletons’ money. In our world bones equal dollars. That’s why they’re coming out tonight to get their bones from you.

This is the early stage of a t-shirt WIP. I’m nearing the end (just in time for Monsterpalooza) and it’s going to be GLORIOUS. Painted entirely in @procreate.com on a Gen 1 iPad Pro 11 in. #horrorart #tshirt #itysl #painting
A trio of skeletons painted digitally in the Procreate App on the iPad Pro by Joshua Potter as part of a t-shirt design for Monsterpalooza 2026. Trying to get close to some of the shirt styles produced by various artists for Cavity Colors. It was also the night that the skeletons came to life. The bones are the skeletons’ money. In our world bones equal dollars. That’s why they’re coming out tonight to get their bones from you. I think you should leave.

My 5-yr-old has seen Star Wars, half of Raiders, Back to the Future, Godzilla (1954), The Wolf Man (1941), Dracula (1931), Studio Ghibli’s library, & half of Jurassic Park. He loved all of them. We’re currently halfway through reading The Hobbit and he’s dying to read Lord of The Rings right after.

I can sympathize. I, too, made that very same decision recently. I reconciled with myself by getting a Godzilla shirt for my kid to wear to Monsterpalooza instead.

A page from a short horror film script called Seven Deaths For Sister Sara, written by Joshua Potter. During a Winter in Seattle, a shabby, disarming detective arrives at a local mission to investigate the death of one of its sisters, and is mistaken for being homeless. He’s offered a bowl of chili and a new coat while he wanders around the scene.A page from a short horror film script called Seven Deaths For Sister Sara, written by Joshua Potter.
