Falling Stars (2023) Folk horror about witches, set in a desert October--while it does have a very intriguing premise and solid start, the delivery turns out a bit flat--and, unfortunately, it really goes off the rails during the third act. #FilmSky #HorrorMovies #HorrorSky #Halloween #HorrorFam

Dark Harvest (2023) I can't count the number of times I've thought to myself "someone ought to make a movie that combines The Purge, The Outsiders, Night of the Scarecrow, and Pumpkinhead". Well, turns out someone did, and it's fairly entertaining. #FilmSky #HorrorMovies #HorrorSky #Halloween

In honor of scary media month: what is the first piece of media you remember truly frightening you as a child? (indeed, every month is scary media month) Magic (1978) I didn't even watch the movie until many, many years later-- it was the TV spots that scared the hell out of me.

The Haunted Forest (2025) If you're looking for a movie to get you into the Halloween spirit you could do a lot worse than this one--you could do a lot better, too. A surprisingly likable cast (especially lead Grayson Gwaze) make up for the film's shortcomings. #HorrorMovies #Halloween #HorrorSky

FleshEater (1988) Bill Hinzman wrote, directed, produced, and starred in this shoestring budget flick featuring zombies, a Halloween bash, and lots of blood. The ending may be a ripoff of the film we know Bill from, but getting there is so much fun we can forgive it #Horror #HorrorMovies #HorrorFam

I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006) When an old friend first told me the title of this one 20 years ago, I thought he was making it up. I finally watched it tonight and...yikes. What a horrendous film. #horror #HorrorMovies #HorrorFam #HorrorFamily #MutantFam #HorrorFans #HorrorSky

Yelang Valley - Guiyang, Guizhou Province, China - 8/30/2026 Yelang Valley is a massive park constructed by artist Song Peilun, who spent over 20 years (starting in 1997) sculpting the faces, statues, and towers out of local rock and broken pottery. I loved every moment at this breathtaking site.

Land of Wilderness - Lijiang, Yunnan province, China. Artist/folk singer Qiao Xiaodao built Land of Wilderness for his daughter, using recycled and discarded materials. It's a journey into the surreal, and one of the coolest places I have ever been. There's lots to see--set aside several hours.

I've heard the Camper Van Beethoven cover of this song a million times, and indeed knew it was a cover, but I can't recall ever listening to the original before tonight--I like it (especially the mono recording). Status Quo - Pictures of Matchstick Men m.youtube.com/watch?v=ssSq...
