It sure seems like the reason the US attacked Iran was because Trump and his advisors wanted to. That's it. There was no imminent threat or anything like that. They just wanted to. And that decision was certainly enhanced by Israel also wanting to for its own (though probably overlapping) reasons.

Getting rid of the license plates is certainly Constitutional but revoking the tax exempt status seems like it violates the First Amendment. I find those groups odious, but they don't seem to fit into one of the narrow categories where they can have their tax exempt status yanked.

The stupid part of this Republican response is that the whole concept of using this hyperbole or threat as a negotiation tactic is that they must be credible. If they aren't credible, they aren't effective. So saying that he clearly doesn't mean it just demonstrates that he's a bad negotiator.
