This girl I used to waitress with in Austin, we moved to New York together in 2003 on a literal Greyhound bus. Shared a fifth floor walk-up studio that, when it rained, had more leaks in the ceiling than we had pots and pans. We used to get drunk and smoke off the fire escape and do “sad-offs.”

For Halloween the double jack o lantern my kid made a few years ago.

A jack o lantern. It’s very dark and all that’s visible is the glow from inside. It has evil eyes And a gaping mouth with lots of pointed teeth. Inside the mouth there’s a smaller jack o lantern with a distressed expression.

In 1862, a Union soldier found cigars wrapped in a piece of paper in a field of clover. The paper was a copy of Confederate Gen. Lee's invasion orders. The Southern sloppiness helped the Union stop Lee at Antietam. It's unknown who lost the orders in the field, or if he was related to Pete Hegseth.

Yesterday was not great but I did help save this little guy from a strip mall parking lot so I’ll take a win.
