The absolute fucking goal of bookselling. I'm gonna be high on this for a fortnight
Customer Comments: Hello!! I recently moved to Baltimore from Porter Square and I'm missing a little bit of home. I've been going to the Cambridge location for ~ 10 years and Josh's recs were always a favorite. I read anything and everything. The obscure is good and welcome! Though on the weir front, I would stay away from either Renee Gladman or anything published by Coffee House Press since I've read a lot of their back catalogs. Hope Cambridge is treating you all well. <3

I think it's...notable that Fuck Ice is just a part of American pop culture now. Like, we sell Fuck Ice pins at the bookstore. Got this t-shirt at The Hold Steady show last night. Has any entity become so hated, so broadly, so quickly?

I just need society to survive long enough for us to get at least one meal from the ramp patch we've been tending at my mom's house.

Honestly, I did not expect Francis to go this FREAKIN HARD. I'll never look at fries eggs the same way.
Quote from Bread and Jam for Francis that says But sunny-side-up eggs lie on the plate and look up at you. And sunny-side-down eggs just lie on their stomachs and wait. There is emphasis ok the word wait.

I don't know if this will connect with anyone else, but sometimes you've just got to get something out.
To Alyce, who does not know the times are interesting

If, because
I chose to fight,
they take me from you I
hope you never forgive me.

Forgiveness comes from understanding, understanding
too goddamn often
a consequence of experience.
If you experience the choice to fight
my taken-ness will have been
one of the million grains of failure
in the pile of failure.
(The pile of piles of failure.)

(and if you forgive me still my ghost will be consoled
that we raised you right while we raised the world wrong)

If, because
I chose to fight
they take me from you
I hope you never forgive me
for choosing the world you could
have over the time would we have

Victory gardens & CSAs aren't going to solve the potential foodways crisis on the way, BUT they can help your family, while lessening the stress on the system AND connecting you to satisfying work & a community. If you can get to North Cambridge I highly recommend Sun Moon Farm www.sunmoonfarm.org

Maybe...Evocative & ebullient bafflement. Which I think is actually a not insignificant genre of literature. (Which, of course, would include Tone.)

Publishers: We don't have the money to pay livable wages or give indie bookstores better discounts. Also Publishers: We've got money for this stuff to promote an already multimillion selling series.

It would be so pretentious to call your book, "The Book*." I mean, come on. *Unless you are my queen Mary Ruefle. Mary does what she wants and we are grateful for it.
