I bike on 7th ave in park slope which has a painted bike lane every Fri @ 3pm. The amount of traffic due to dbl parked cars (in the bike lane of course) is a clear indicator of how cars and entitled drivers are the problem, not bike lanes. We need to take back all space we’ve ceded to this nonsense.

it seems like any answer thats not explicitly EVERYONE SHOULD WEAR A HELMET AT ALL TIMES WHILE BEING ANYWHERE NEAR A BIKE is met with insane rage and hostility. there is nuance to when people chose to adopt safety measures when engaging in various activities and that's fine.

see, there is nuance to how a bike is ridden just as there is nuance to how a person engages in water activities. so downhill mtbing or traveling faster than 20mph IMO is more akin to the vehicle example and leisurely riding in a bike path is playing in the ocean with a body board. nuance.
