I cut my teeth on The Unseen's music. Not only was it an honor to shoot this new video for them, but I finally got to use some of the anti-ICE protest footage I shot in LA last year. Thanks to @newnoisemagazine.bsky.social for covering the video. newnoisemagazine.com/premieres/vi...

Few things have professionally meant as much to me as being asked to make a Punk Rock Mini Doc on The Ramones for the 50th celebration on Sunday. Also, got the honor of being asked to capture the footage of the day. Here's a repost of the recap video I made for The Ramones organization:

This Friday night was built around watching the Goodfellas open matte, 35mm scan I just acquired. Yes, I know if I turn off the lights it would look better, but I like the ambiance. Also yeah a tiny bit of edge bleed, but if the wind stops it's fine.

I've taken to downloading scans of original 35mm prints of classic movies for my outside projector viewing. Watched a scan of Raiders this weekend and it was so much fun to see all its old imperfections.

I moved to SoCal 20 years ago because of my love of Orange County Punk. One of my biggest influences of all those bands? Social Distortion. The fact that this is the second video of theirs I've had the honor of co-directing with Mike Ness absolutely blows my mind. www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XsH...

For my newest cigar box guitar, which I've named The Busker, I designed one with a 25.5in full scale, and integrated internal amp. When plugged in, the amp is auto bypassed. Need to make a few modifications, but overall, very excited. #CBG

I really liked Long Lonesome Highways: The Story of Michael Parks. @joshroush.bsky.social uses his own personal experience with Parks, as well as those who knew, loved, and worked with him, to tell this story. It’s a touching tribute. My review at Awards Radar: awardsradar.com/2025/04/19/f...

Dates pics, but I made a custom, upside down wood box and then weatherproofed the lid. Bought a Roku, home outdoor Bluetooth speakers, and have a Bluetooth audio adapter out of the projector. I also hooked it up to a Raspberry Pi w/wireless controllers so I can play Nintendo games.

Respect the opinion, but honestly Rollins is my favorite singer for the band, I just think he was better live than in studio, the energy translated better. Not that I saw them mind you, going off of old bootlegs and stuff like Who's Got the 10 1/2. I think Rollins with Kira was peak Black Flag.

All in all, even though this is not really Constantine as the character goes, it's a great movie that really holds up (for the most part). Had a blast rewatching this and please, gimme a sequel. Back before Marvel, this was as close as we got to a proper comic book movie.

010

Josh Roush @joshroush.bsky.social · 23/02/2025

Spent all day w/the Constantine 4k release. Observations: -Always loved this flick, even though it's not authentic "Constantine". -There's a Jay & Bob reference? -The dialogue sounds like it was recorded in a reverb tank. -Had no idea there's a whole deleted Michelle Monaghan subplot.

Last year I was confused when my neighborhood 7-11 installed blacklights on the block. I was today years old when I learned that it's due to prostitution in the area and showing the customer... where other customers have frequented. North Hollywood for the win?

Just delivered the final feature, trailer, and artwork for Long Lonesome Highway: The Story of Michael Parks. Can't yet update you on where or when you will see it. For good or ill, the old man was an American original who did it his way. We carried the documentary in the same fashion in his honor.

I find enjoyment & feeling rewarded two different things. I hate being on set, it's long hours and a constant battle to fit within the parameters you're given. But, it's infinitely rewarding. Knowing that I went through hell & came out the other side with an expression of myself? Priceless.

Worth it to just push through and see the resolution. Or, watch the endings of the last few minutes of EP's 4, 5, and 6, then watch 7 and 8. What If? was a wasted opportunity, but if you got that far...
