That was me too, I definitely think Alfred + supplementary piano/music theory vids on YouTube was a decent path

Depends what you mean by "play piano" exactly but I used Alfred's books: www.alfred.com/alfreds-basi... With mostly consistent practice after 3-5 years I can read/learn/play some pieces and improv a little, but I was never super happy with where I got to (and I switched to Violin eventually)

My secret power is that I go on Twitter for a small specified time each day. If I feel compelled to tweet something, I write it in a note. Then later when it comes time to tweet it, I realise I don't want to deal with tweeting that shit anyway. This rule does not apply to Bluesky yet.

As a primarily frontend developer I find it such a refreshing way to code. Making games is cool and creative, so that's motivating - but you also face challenges you just don't really see in frontend, so it feels like a great way to grow too (e.g. I do *way* more in-depth TypeScript stuff in games)

Haven't quite finished this one yet - but currently listening to the audiobook narrated by Kevin Foley, it's absolutely brilliant. Maybe Ray Bradbury's writing suits audio well, because Fahrenheit 451 was my favourite audio book until this one.

I got legitimately excited for a second there until I realised, but this is actually pretty interesting! I doubt it would be "good" but I am curious to see how it goes with a long form narrative like this, with a small context window + tendency to go off track over time
