Very sad to see Rick get driven off of Bluesky by sharing a report of using Claude Code to do something cool and useful. The absolute vitriol towards software developers trying out LLMs—which are very good at writing code, mind you—is so tiresome.

this is a very unpopular opinion but banning clients is so defeatist where's your ambition computers are incredibly fast, your website should basically only ever be bottlenecked by network or disk speeds 11tb/day is 135mb/s, that's a number achievable by a shell script on a single core

are you thrashing out? get your totally objective, absolutely accurate score now. thrashmeter.bisks.net somehow i'm at 82/100. anything below that is boring, tedious, you're just not getting bsky. anything above that is unhinged, deranged, you need to touch grass.
💥 thrashmeter
Enter a Bluesky handle. We'll pull their profile and download their entire repo — every post, like, repost, follow, block, list, feed generator, and gate they've ever written, straight off their own PDS as one CAR file, not just a recent page — and score how hard the account is thrashing out of 100: rapid-fire posting bursts, erratic rhythm, reply-diving, self-reply spirals, quote-dunking, block rate, protocol sprawl, and more. Your score joins the leaderboard below, recomputed server-side so nobody can just claim 100.

A* is merely regurgitating a path-like answer. The solution was already in its platonic form. It's impossible for any algorithm to produce new information.

By 2022 Google Translate had been using transformer models for several years. By 2014 Facebook was using deep convolutional neural nets (DeepFave) for face detection. Literally the things you think were “before LLMs” are either basically indistinguishable from LLMs or their direct predecessors.

update: i got the 30km wrong, i confused 2 different models every printer will last roughly day so we don't need a printer factory just yet!

There are on avg 75 skeets/s. The Epson TM-T88VII prints at 500mm/s. assuming an average skeet is ~110ch long or measures 27mm at 180dpi, we need 5 printers minimum each of them is rated for 30km, so we'd have to replace one every 3 hours this is a printer supply chain issue

iv is an extended version of Elms Array module, implementing a bunch of new fancy algorithms! It's slower at appends, but faster at everything else 😄 Gleam also has ArrayBuffer with BitArrays, and standard JS arrays are what the glearray library uses ^.^

So everyone should go star the compiler so it gets first place, but then It would be really cool if one of my projects could be 4th to make it entirely Gleam 🥹👉👈 I made the default Gleam array implementation! tangled.org/becca.monste... and a really cool task pool too! tangled.org/becca.monste...
