Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 24/03/2025JavaScript 👨💻: I am only aware of the basics of JavaScript and DOM Manipulation even after attending a full course. As I read more code online the less I realize I know. Therefore, that justifies my rating. Rating (0 - Basic, 10 - Intermediate): 3.5/10 000
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 24/03/2025CSS 🖌️: CSS is rather hard for such a straight-forward language. Sigh. I don't know little to nothing about Grids or Animation only being capable of using them basically. I am frequently reminded of how little I know of CSS. Rating (0 - Basic, 10 - Intermediate): 4/10 100
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 24/03/2025HTML ⌨️: HTML is a rather simple language so although I know little, I have enough knowledge that would on it's own be enough to make a website. Of course since we have the internet it is much easier to search things I don't know when I need it. Rating (0 - Basic, 10 - Intermediate): 6/10 100
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 24/03/2025Today my father asked me to write a review of my current coding skills. I thought it was a great idea, I can almost imagine myself in the future looking back on these posts to see how far I improved. 👨💻 So I will be including my current skills in the thread that follows. 120
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 17/01/2025Day 4: Today I learnt about functions, objects, an arrays. I also learnt how to handle errors in JavaScript using try, catch and throw errors. Anyway I managed to complete Module 2 now! :D Can't wait to start learning on Object-Oriented programming! 010
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 17/01/2025Hey guys! Quick question... Ever wondered how JavaScript handles operations like [1 + "2"] or [a = b = c = 5?] Learn about operators, concatenation, coercion, and associativity (left-to-right vs. right-to-left). This video shows you how! Watch the video now: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Myu_...youtube.comOperators in JavaScript made easy!YouTube video by Garretts 010
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 14/01/2025Day 3: (Or is it?) Sorry for the break, I kind of forgot Blue-sky existed. Anyway today was great. I learned about conditionals in JavaScript. (If statements, switch statements, while loops, for loops and nested loops.) I also finished Module 1 in this course in Coursera! 110
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 11/01/2025Aesthetics: The blog itself seems to have a good theme and I like how he included the "Fun Facts". However my only problem with it is that there's only one image. That could perhaps have been improved upon. (8/10) Overall, I give him a score of 33/40 or 82.5%. 000
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 11/01/2025Facts: The facts themselves, are correct and I like how he included the references as well for them. (10/10) Language: The language as I mentioned is quite clear however there are some careless mistakes like: "If humans were put had that role" & “the the lunar-sensors”. (6/10) 100
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 11/01/2025Personality: I like the metaphors like "Just like our brain, the space shuttle also has a brain. And that is a computer." The personality feels as if we are conversing with a cup of tea. However the rush of data in some paragraphs really tone down that personality. 100
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 11/01/2025My father gave us a challenge, to write an essay on the "Role of software in bringing the first man into the moon." This is my critique of my brother's essay. blog.jerrygarrett.xyz/the-role-of-...blog.jerrygarrett.xyzThe Role of Software to get Man to the moon. – Jerry G's Blog 101
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 10/01/2025Hey everyone! I made a new video to help those out who are new to #JavaScript and want to learn about variables & simple data types. Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 02/01/2025Day 2: Today I learnt about "Variables" & "Data Types"! This is where I started to code in this course and I am already starting to have lot's of fun. My favorite insight from this part was understanding how to combine strings and variables! (Like console.log("Hello", name)) 110
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 30/12/2024Day 1: Kicked off with understanding the importance of JavaScript itself! 'Course I did not learn much about coding JavaScript but I learnt the uniqueness of JavaScript! It is the only coding language till now that can code full-stack and yet it is one of the easiest languages you can learn today! 130
Josh Garrett @joshgarrett.xyz · 30/12/2024I’ve just started the 'Programming with JavaScript' course by Meta on Coursera, and I’m excited to share my journey here! Each day, I’ll post what I’ve learned, hoping to track my progress and maybe even inspire someone else to dive into coding! 151
