Our Ed Board opposes vouchers as bad policy, but it's also a political gift for Democrats and public education advocates who can go on the offensive. Vouchers open the door to eventually regulate private schools, and to launch schools free of GOP legislative and SBOE interference. More here:

Since Trump said he would make these pardons, I'm not surprised. But I have wondered if voters really thought through the implications of the election, or perhaps many people just don't care as so much of it can feel remote or inconsequential to the daily grind, even if it isn't.

President Trump has signed 9* separate executive orders that herald sweeping changes to the immigration system and to communities inside the US. We broke down: - What they do - What's happened already - What's to come - What this all means. Follow with me for a thread on what you need to know 🧵
This analysis is by no means an exhaustive list of the changes made by the “Day One” executive orders, much less a breakdown of the legal arguments contained within them. Because so much depends on implementation, it is possible that provisions excluded from this analysis may turn out to be enormously influential—and that some provisions we highlight may not do much other than impose confusion and fear. However, this analysis represents our best effort to synthesize the executive actions into an agenda of proposed and accomplished changes, and to point out some future developments to watch for as these texts are turned into reality for immigrants and all Americans.
