Ive been working on some small bust sculptures this week. I want to do a bunch. I have an idea for how to show the grouping but I’m still figuring it out.

Greenware clay bust sculptures. 2 are made with BC6 clay from CAC and 1 is Klamath Yellow from SPS. The BC6 will fire a grey white, and the Klamath yellow will fire red.

I love how much this 1 single glaze is doing with just some extra dips. And the finish is still a really nice satin smooth. Plus the color variation between an appley green to almost baby blue. Its really beautiful! Im happy with it. 💚🩵

These two water etched pieces turned out so good! I love them! Sagebrush Celadon on NZ6 Porcelain both from Clay Art Center Tacoma. I was going to add music and cut the sound but the rain sound is really great. So please enjoy the rain. 🌧️

Glazed half of the bisque batch and started a glaze fire last night. I haven’t started to make my own glazes yet so I’m using Coyote Enduro-Color Honeydew glaze. I love the soft green it is on light clay bodies. I’m using Digital Fire C6DHSC drop and hold/slow cool schedule. Fingers Crossed!🤞🏼

Bisque ware lined up for glazing. Liners have been poured and I will dip the exterior as well before putting in the kiln again for a glaze fire.

Some long neck busts from today. I used to do a long neck character alot some years ago. Looks like they made their way into these busts today. Im hoping to do a bunch more of these in the coming weeks.

2 small busts of characters with hats on. One a newsy/golf hat and the other a pork pie style hat. Both pieces are wet clay in greenware stage of leather hard. Grey clay is BC6 from CAC and the yellow is Klamath Yellow from SPS, it will fire a nice red. Both are cone 5/6 clays

Loaded up a bisque kiln last night. This will be a fun batch. I’m going with 1 glaze on these and no illustrations. I’ve always wanted to make a set of cups, mugs and plates that all matched with 1 simple glaze. Also first time trying to bisque fire plates standing up to see if it helps w/warping🤞🏼

I made another shallow planter for Bonsai trees. This time with a yellow iron style red clay, Klamath Yellow from SPS. The last one is still drying, I made these with pretty thick slabs for me so I’m slow drying to hopefully help with any warping. Im having fun making these.

Been working on some cups and mugs the past few days. I love these dimpled wavy forms. They give such a great hand feel after fired. Great for small hands.

Yesterdays clay stuffs . I think I’m going to go super duper simple with these. 1 glaze, interior and exterior, no illustration. Its going to be really hard to stay simple and not illustrate on these or add other glazes but i want to try it out and see if I like them that way. 🤞🏼

I painted these pieces live last year with Spaceworks Tacoma for Tacoma Block Party put on by Tacoma Downtown Partnership in Downtown Tacoma. (Wow, that was a mouthful! 😂) These will stay up downtown till a new artist paints them this year in August. Fun project, always a good time to live paint!

Last year I had the opportunity to make some paintings for the Washington State Arts Commission (ArtsWa) that will hang at Ballou Jr High School in the Puyallup School District. I learned so much about Public Arts in Washington State . ArtsWa was such a great partner to work with on these.
