It's not even bad in terms of amenities, cleanliness, and what not, it's really that the transfers are an absolute backrooms-level labyrinth. I'm hoping the numbering changes next year makes it easier to navigate. And also having to pay almost 9€ for a Frappuccino but that's a whole other ordeal. 💀

I honestly don't know how popular the movie is with locals! For the number of times I've been at this airport during layovers, I've never actually set foot in the city. 😅 I picture that, at least here in Paris and closer to the Disney park, there's likely a lot of this stuff around. 🐀

Hope everyone at gamescom this week had a fantastic time! 🤗 We sadly didn't head there ourselves this year. However, the reports of stolen hardware, poor security, and booths being broken into are really concerning. It's awful seeing devs have hardware their work and livelihoods depend on stolen. 🫂

Multiple stories being shared of expensive equipment being stolen from Gamescom booths - both at indie consumer areas and business areas - despite the apparent presence of security. In some cases, it has cut developer's events short, as they can't show their games. Abysmal.

Saving is one of those systems that's hard to figure out at times (especially when you account for platform limitations) but it's worth the time to research and figure out. Once you arrive at a save system and structure you're satisfied with, you pretty much end up reusing it across all projects.

Let me know if you'd like any pointers about this! I used to struggle a lot with this myself, but eventually figured out a key/value system similar to PlayerPrefs, but where the value data is stored as JSON and then everything is saved to a file, which allows me to save more complex data structures.

Yesterday was one of those days where I got as much stuff done as some entire weeks. 😅 Just a lot of open threads finally coming together after dragging on for months. I've been balancing travel plans, medical stuff, industry involvement, studio work, our game, and more. It gets tiring at times! 💦

Now that we're back at it, I'm really enjoying the work we've been doing to tie Townseek's narrative together. The interesting challenge has been realising that we're not just writing a single story, but that we're trying to create a cohesive narrative that spans three generations of sharks. 🦈
